Starting the build today. Bag A done. Center diff came with no shims and directions dont show them. Diff feels a little nothchy but nothing as bad as a new losi diff....clunk clunk clunk Im sure it will wear in fine after few packs change the oil and they are probably good to go. Not sweating it.....yet

Sensored is the way to go for racing.
i'm not a racer. just a basher and in some times guys came and we enjoy running our rc cars . some do have tekin and other models but it depends on the guy behind the trx imo.
if the tekin much smoother and better for racing regardless of the way you control your buggy Matt better to follow what racers advised.

My first break ever! Lets just say it was a very difficult double triple....I had this buggy since its release and it can take a beating. The track won this time.

The Castle system is fine for racing , sure its not as smooth as a sensored system but if you setup the ESC correctly you can be just as fast with it as a sensored system .

Sensorless ESC software is getting a lot better at being smoother then it used to be , the only thing sensored does better is startup and really low speed running which when racing rarely happens . That said I run sensored systems now but ran Castle systems fo a long time before switching .....

Default maiden voyage

first time out with new kit. just a practice day on small track, i love it. turns, jumps, excellerates like a rocket. box stock setup. manual say for more steering try 7 5 2 in diffs. does this give more turn in? on a side note, when i tighten down steering top plate it binds steering.

also can someone tell me what servo horn and where to get? i am in Pa. prefer somewhere besides amain or tekno that is on opposite coast.

lastly not much brakes. i run rx8 and 2050.i have gone thru manual tuning on rx8 but still not what i want, travel is set to 150% last time out on durango dex408 i had to dial brakes out of setup. same motor and rx8.

i had a very high speed abrupt stop with all impact to front today with zero damage. i thought for sure i was going to pick up peices.

thanks for any help to new eb48 owner.

Turning travel up beyond 100% does nothing but give you less control(assuming you calibrated the esc with travel set to 100% as you are supposed to). If calibrated at 100%, when you turn travel up to 150% you will have full brake(or throttle) at 2/3 trigger, the rest of the trigger travel will do no more. You should probably recalibrate at 100% and set your brake strength again if you haven't already tried.

I bought the hot bodies servo horn from rpphobbies. For the top plate issue make sure everything is seated completely and that the bearings are in fact inside the plastic portion and that the plastic portion isn't on top of the bottom bearing. For the brakes, I have no idea. I run 70% brakes in the ESC and I also turn the radio down to 70% and it will still lock them up. Is it an old motor?

If you read back a page or so you'll see a list of horns that work but IMO the hot bodies is the only direct universal replacement.
