You won't ever need to run any spider gear shims, we'll be making some updates to the instructions to reflect this

Ah, ok, thanks. So the shims were deleted from the kit I guess? Was there a change to the spider gears maybe?

Never owned a electric before any recommendations on esc and motor. Really like the buggy and any setup help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks
Matt

I always fall back to the Tekin line for motors.

As for ESC, with a bit of fitting, the Silver Arrow V2 ESC works really well for the money.

Tekin rx8 tekin 1900kv or 2050kv on 4s For roar races. But most guys where I race run 6s and 1400kv.

What would the pinion range be for a 6S 1400kv setup?

No, they aren't. Use Adobe Reader to view the setup PDFs.

Hi Matt
low cost with efficient go with hobby wing as many here do say that it's a good choice.
High end, nothing like the Castle creations lineup.
i own several models of CC's since 2008 and it's still working and performing like new although i'm putting them under the highest voltage it can handle without any issues.

I would never use castle 8th scale stuff in a race setting. It's made for bashing, the power isn't smooth, and it's unsensored. I know some people who race with castle's 8th scale stuff, but it's really not designed for that. You'd be much better off using a tekin, or hobbywing sensored setup. Sensored is the way to go for racing.
