Everyone should tune ball stud washers and use what works for them and not use/make generalizations. Ball stud washers are the final fine tuning that is most often changed for me along with shock oil.

I setup a B44.1 with big bores for a friend for the midwest winter champs and we ended up with zero washers front and rear. He came in 3rd in one of his qualifiers ahead of cav and 2 spots behind tebo. He ended up qualifying 5th and taking 8th overall in 4wd and loved his car.

This was with ZERO washers. On other tracks, 2 washers on his car was best. It depends on the track.

If he had 2 washers before we started working. Absolute poop. If 2 washers always made more grip, all the team setups would have it that way.

We, as a group on the internet, need to stay away from making generalizations about things, especially those of us who are most listened to.

Adding spacers under the stud's makes for more grip ....

works for

all tracks & on any surface.....

There's no hope for you if you think that. You should just quit.

I'm looking to lock the rear down a bit more. Unfortunately we have to run at the end of the day and it gets kinda dry and loose out there. On corner entry up to the apex on a tight 180 the rear likes to slide a tad to much. Sometimes I feel like I need to tip toe more than I'd like into a turn but then hit it once I'm on corner exit. I try to carry speed into a turn off power and rail, then get on throttle.I just need to have a bit more rear grip and I'll be set, diff setup F or R maybe?

Higher inner ball stud increases traction

Lower inner ball stud reduces traction.

Higher inner ball stud lowers roll center.

Lower inner ball stud raises roll center.

If your roll center is too high, lowering it adds traction.
If your roll center is too low, raising it adds traction.

Roll center tuning 101 right here. Try to not get stuck in generalization land.

Apologies , Seems you are not taken by simple explanations on how set-up change effects the performance on a car ..

Most can appreciate however..

When said simple explanations are wrong, then yes, I are not taken by them. Why do you think the AE manuals moved away from saying higher/longer = more traction and shorter/lower = less traction? Because it was a generalization. The manuals now say that higher/longer = lower roll center, and lower/shorter = higher roll center.

If they realized the error of their ways -- so can you. I have personally found less washers making the rear have way more grip at our track, but at other tracks, more washers was better.

All I can do is offer my experience and empirical results.

A Razathorn is a combination or razor and thorn. It's something I made up when I was 14 in '94 and wanted a cool character name for some budding dialup bulletin board games. It stuck. It was the "WoW character name" of the nerds of that era.

I'm sorry if this comes off as harsh, but you're the king of generalizations, and people listen to you like it's gospel, and it hurts them. There has to be a counter balance to this, and that is me. I'm not going to quit.

I will be civil, but I will not be quiet. I suggest you brush up on your debate skills.
