ok, its either the Xtreme stock or Justock esc(since its on sale for under $50 @ falconsekido.com)...
So my question is...i see alot of people having issues with software, if i get the Xtreme stock and want the zero timing(blinky software along with 17.5t motor) everyone says teh software is marked wrong and ive only used the LCD box to change settings and NEVER used it to change software so can someone link up the Blinky software and whats the best way to change softwares??? I will save them to my laptop so i will always have the 2 softwares i want and dont need to continue to hook it up to the computer to keep getting the stuff i need. Please and thanks...

1. Download and install the latest version of the USB Link Software -
Version 3.1_120808 onto your computer.
2. To change software on V2 ESC's (Justock, Xtreme)
- Open the Hobbywing USB Link 3.1 application on your computer
- Choose ESC Speed Controller in the Device Menu at the top
- Choose Firmware Upgrade in the left menu
- Choose V3_508_No Timing in the Upgrade Version drop down box
- Click Upgrade
- Choose your settting in the other menu items on the left if you want to
- Click Apply at the bottom
- Recalibrate your ESC
3. To change software on the program box for V2 ESC's:
- Open the Hobbywing USB Link 3.1 application on your computer
- Choose LCD Program Box in the Device Menu at the top
- Choose Firmware Upgrade in the left menu
- Choose V1.08_120504 in the Upgrade Version drop down box
- Click Upgrade
If you followed those steps ... You know have a V2 ESC with No Timing Software Installed and the ability to change the settings on a V2 ESC through the LCD Program Box.
You can change 'software' only using the PC, you can change 'software settings' using the PC or LCD program card.
And that's how it's done.
So even with EITHER of those ESC's and my SCT Pro, by downloading the software you show above i can still use it on BOTH esc's becuz that is the software that you install on the computer to recognize the LCD box, correct?
I dont need to upgrade the LCD box do i...only for the newer V3's, right?
And that program will show the software i need and switch to on the esc and dont need to download any thing else?
Thanks and sorry again since im new to all this software stuff...but just want to make sure i have the right software for when i do go down to race locally

Let me try to explain a few things for the benefit of all those new to or considering HobbyWing. There are a couple of things you need to know that may make things clearer for you.
The following is information on V2 based ESC's only
1. Hobbywing USB Link Software - this is a software application that you put on your PC (MS Windows). The current version is Version 3.1_120808. It is a user interface that allows you to do the following:
2. ESC Firmware - this is the firmware that is on the ESC and used for different classes. You can only change the 'ESC Firmware' by connecting the ESC to a computer (like I mentioned above). If you connect a V2 ESC to the computer then you will only see available 'ESC Firmware' for the V2, current versions for popular classes are:
To change software on V2 ESC's (Justock, Xtreme, 1S, SCT)
3. LCD Program Box - this is made for quick changes to 'ESC Settings'. Think of this as a small computer with a very limited amount of memory. It's memory is so limited, that it can only handle making changes to one version of ESC, in this case a V2 based ESC (Justock, Xtreme, 1S, SCT).
When connected by iteself to the ESC (without a computer)
It also has a 'LCD Program Box Firmware' version:
Note: I have intentionally not made any reference to the "Hobbywing V3 120A ESC" but look how many times I wrote "V3" or similar, that is why it is confusing to some people .. the naming conventions could certainly be improved.
Hope that helps.

oh yea, i understood and thanks for the big write up again...i just noticed people saying something about the box firmware and V3 so i wanted to make sure i understood that updating the LCD box since its only needed for communication to the V3 esc BUT DID NOT realize that there will be a drop down menu once the esc is hooked to the puter to change the firmware so that explained it all for me so i dont have to worry about downloading firmware or saving it on the puter, its in the Hobbywing program! Thanks what i was confused about and appreciate the help...

I got a xtreme stock esc, I accidently crossed the battery wires only for nenosecond. the sensor? board is burned out, but in sensorless mode, it work ok fine, smoothly accerlate. but when i connect sensor cable, it will not move at standstill unless i push the car forward. any idea how i can fix or resolve it? can anyone repair this? i has this esc for 2 years,
I was told, you can run motor down to 5.5T without boost with certain firmware with xtremestock, is that true?

The Lcd pgrammer is the only device that can be upgraded to any software version for the programmer from v2 -v3 etc .
ESC
Once the esc is plugged in to the pc and the lcd programmer it will only give you the software thats available for that model of esc nothing more .You cannot use v3 esc software with the v2 or v2 with the v3 it will not allow it .
