I currently have the durango dex410v3. This car is great and i finally have a setup that i like. However, as you may know...parts availability at my local track and hobby shop are nil. I order my parts on line and am usually prepared for the most part.
I'm considering going with AE mainly due to the above. My local track is always fully stocked as well as local hobby shop. How do you guys like this car compared to others such as Durango? It looks sik and based on the the AE website...has all you need to get racing. I like the gear diff in my Durango because of the durability. Does the b44.2 have a gear diff option or are they strictly ball diffs. I'm fairly new to RC (8 months) what are the advantages to a ball diff/gear diff in a 1/10 4wd buggy?
I am tempted to sell the durango roller and go AE. Any input is greatly appreciated.

I love the battery straps. Not nearly as cool looking as carbon fiber and aluminum. But way cooler than looking for a thumbscrew on the ground.

Or having it stuck under your spurgear and you're holding your car upside down shaking it out looking like an idiot.

They don't look cool, but I think they're awesome.

I had one of the fast guys at my local track help tune my b44.2 so that I would know that the car is driving good. He has the durango dex410v3 and his fastest lap at our track with the durango was a 16.7 after 2 different tunings sessions he got my car to a 16.4 which was faster than a car he has tuned on a lot. He had to admit that it drove better than his. I am a sportsman driver and he is a pro of course I can't drive it that fast but the car does drive awesome. I am just a little off box set up.

They just downgraded quality and cosmetic appearance. Dont get me wrong the carbon fiber with thumbscrews looks sick, but after a night of running you get tired of taking the thumbscrews on and off. So the new design is more mechanic friendly, but they should have created a design with the carbon fiber. Also I feel like ae needs to quit "just updating" old cars, they nee to start releasing new stuff...t4/b4 has basically been the same design since they both came out, the 1/8th scale series has been relitavely the same with some minor and minimal major changes, the short course series has also been relitavely the same design, all have the same diffs whether its ball or gear...i just feel like ae needs to release new stuff not updated old. Like the original 44 to theb44.1 now the 44.2 theres alot of changes made, but nothing serious. Its basically the same car.

If you have a car / platform that is highly competitive and works very well, small minor changes & some fine tuning are probably all that is really needed.

If it ain't broke, don't go trying to fix it ?

Would you rather they go the losi route and release a whole new platform? lol... How well did that go for the customers? Granted losi's xxx series had been around a lot longer and it was time for a change. What a disaster it was for a lot club racers getting that car to work.

You already have a highly competitive platform... Now you throw in all the latest updates= win!

The b4 and b44 were created by great engineers and are still very competitive platforms. Updates are great, but why change a winning design completely?

B44 owner switched to Schumacher here, and I have to agree with AE's gameplan w/ the 44.2..... leave what works alone and update/fix the problems. Hated losing battery thumbscrews and/or crawling on the ground or shaking the car to find 'em. Also, I really like all the other upgrades! WTG AE IMO !

Every one of your guys opinions and statements are absolutely correct and accurate. Why change something thats working fine for years and years. Im just the type to like change i guess. But why couldnt associated with there phenominal fleet of genious engineers create a new platform that works the same if not better? They have the talent, engineers, and most of all $$$. The only cars I run is associated and there platforms are highly competitive and winning all the time literally in the hands of some of the worlds best drivers, id just like to see somethin new. I think there due? Am I completely wrong? My only concern is I hope whatever new 2wd platform they come out with is NOT aluminum chassis like kyosho or durango and losi, i think the graphite is better.

Hey I notice that the 4x4 buggies don't so well in the woops, is that a trait of the 4x4s or can that be fixed with lighter oil or more travel front & rear?
