Good. I was thinking to bite the bullet to get the $109 Exotek Chassis for my Factory Team SC10 4x4 but was hesitant. I haven't put together my truck yet as I'm doing research and buying all the necessary upgrades (STC stuff, Proline Toyota body..etc) before I put together the truck. This is good to know. I don't expect Team Ass. SC10 4x4 drivers would use this chassis too.

Peace.

A sponsored driver probably is not using it, but they could also beat us with a radio shack truck.
They have super human skills. Nothing was said about how much weight was added to the truck, just no exo chassis.
The exo is an advantage IMO, you can go the cheap route and use weight strips to accomplish close to the same advantage, whatever you want. But most find an advantage with the added weight down low.

Okay, don't take this the wrong way, but....

That sort of track is where the AE truck really shines. A smooth as glass high bite grooved up track with zero "send it" jumps. Watch the video closely, there is so much grip there Max is picking up the inside front tire around more than a couple of corners.

Nobody here has claimed the truck isn't excellent in those sort of conditions.

When the Exotek chassis first came out I scoffed at the price tag and didn't think the added weight would make enough difference to warrant paying that much. I tried my friend's truck when I got the Exo chassis and saw the big difference in handling and feel of the added weight. I loved it. I still couldn't see myself paying that much and ran to poor man's version with 1/4oz weights in each hole on the side of the stock chassis and a 1/2oz on each corner. Truck felt better . But I came across a deal here on rctech for a used Exotek chassis and scored.
The Exotek chassis is a worth while hop up...at least it made a big difference for me.

carrotcake...it's been debated but also think about the RCSHOX center diff. You won't be sorry.

Thanks - I will check out the RCSHOX.

BTW - What do you think of the Exotek locked front clutch? I bought one.

I had, and tried one, before getting the ball diff.

My opinion, if you have no problem with traction, and simply want to pull out of a turn faster, the locker is good to go.

But if you have a traction problem, the ball diff really helps.

The RCSHOX (latest version 2) doesn't seem to fit the FT outer slipper hub as stated from product description. I have the FT SC10 4x4.

Simply use the outer slipper hub from an sc10 2wd, B4.1, T4.1. It was the same used on the Sc10 4x4 models prior to the FT version.

Maddog summed it up. The Exotek locked front clutch works similar to the old pinned topshaft mod most of us all were doing when the 1st gen SC10 4x4 came out. It puts power down to all 4. Bat outa hell acceleration. I have tried all 3 the pinned mod, RCShox center diff (V1 & currently V2) and recently gave the Exotek a spin on a friends SC10 4x4. The pinned mod and Exotek are great but limited. I have to say that I still like the V2 center diff as it is fully adjustable to your track conditions by simply changing the number of pins you run. Less pins will act more so like a slipper and the more pins a more locked feel. Again this is just my preference. My friend likes his VTS / Exotek combo

But looks like you already bought the Exotek so my suggestion is to go with the RCShox garodiscs pads on your VTS slipper. It'll never fade like stock pads. 1 set of garodiscs should last you a very long time.

Any ideas what i can use as alteenative to the AE cva-pins? They are a kind of indicator when u have to change the cva-bones, so i want them to be as cheap as possible. I tried 1.5mm hardened and blued steel nails and 1.3-1.4mm steel nails. Both broke beetween 6 and 10 batteries.
