SC10 4x4 Thread
Wild Cherry, thanks for answering my question, I was hoping you could answer one more so I can. get this truck back together. After adding extra shims, and removing out drive shims it feels very tight. I can actually feel resistance as each tooth catches, almost like when you turn a brushless motor and it 'clicks' forward to the next magnet. Is this proper or am I to thick on the shims? Thanks for your time.
Break it end, will loosen up .
hold one wheel and spin the other with the motor

Hey guys I just bought my sc10 4x4 and went out to try it but it is making a clicking noise when I turn and give it throttle thought it might be the spur gear but that's ok. Is it normal cause it don't sound normal
OR...or or or.....endpoints could be set too far, and it could be causeing the CVD to pull out of the cup just enough to cause the bone-pin to click on the outdrive....
Not saying that's what it is....just something it could be.....
And damn you guys....I'm going to give my truck one more season... I managed a 2nd place qualifier behind our local fast guy at a night race a week or so ago....
I think the center diff is the missing link in my setup.....will have to order one over the winter....

Coming from 1:8, it drives more like what I'm used to... it has a center diff. Ball diff not gear diff, can't have it all, but better than a slipper to me.
When I picked up the kit in October I hadn't driven in years but it drew me in when I was going to a out of town grocery store and there was a LHS next door. Went in for a mag and came out with this truck

Liked it, raced it, but something was missing. The C-Diff

Are you guys using double sided tape or some other solution to hold down your electronics? If double sided tape, which ones are you using? I could hardly go a whole day at the track without my ESC coming loose from the double sided tape.

Very impressed. works well even doubling it up to give some cushion for the ESC. Make sure you have a clean surface regardless of the tape you use, a quick swipe with an alcohol wipe works great. Or a blast of grease remover.
I use this stuff:
