SC10 4x4 Thread
I'm going to try and make it out to WCRC next Friday since I have a 4day weekend coming up......
I just picked up a SC10 4X4 last night. He was running a tekin sc4x 6.5 turn with a havok pro esc. What gearing should i be looking for stock he is running the 32 pitch spur 62 tooth gear and a 13 pinion. Its really slow. I know the motor has more in it should i jump to a 15 or should i go one tooth at a time. I have all the way to a 18 if needed but i dont think that will be needed.
You can get to the pinion screw pretty easy is you have a ball tip 2mm. Or dremel out a section in the plastic above the pinion to get a regular hex in there.
I tried the 8mm mod today with 5mm of ball stud washers under the inner ball stud. I am running a dusty 8th scale track with a typical front straight past the drivers stand leading to a huge high speed sweeper. I am running the Blue front springs on the rear with 32.5 AE oil and the standard white sway bar and it was incredible how much better it was. Before I was loosing the rear end at speed and now it tracks pretty well. I was using caliber 2.0 tires on JC Hazard wheels. My Ballistic 4.5t 550 motor geared at 14/62 was screaming as fast as the 8th scale nitro buggys and it was great. Love this mod!
hey guys sorry this is late, but will get my first race in with the M2C toe in blocks. Almost forgot I ordered them.
I am going to try them first at 3 degrees then, 3.25 and eventually 3.5. I have to say, very nice stuff. However, your smaller bumper can't be used unless you cut off the lip..
Also the instructions could have been a bit more clear on what happens. If they did say some pics would have made a wolrd of difference as there are notches that set things up different.
Anyway, wish me luck. first time going to this track.

im looking for either a little guidance and or some reassurance. Just got the pro4 4600 and the bh lt4 120a installed and did some speed passes down the street and toying around in the grass for about 10 mins to see where the temps were. im running 13/62 gearing
ESC hottest point i could find : 120
Motor at its hottest point : 150
Lipo : 80
Here is my question, is this acceptable/where i need to be? or should i play with the gearing some and if so which direction should i be going? Im pretty sure temps are going to change at the track but as a quick feeler this is what i got.
Also i did notice it was clicking somewhat loudly when turning and on power. Similar to what my 2wd sc10 did until shimmed the diff. Is this what is needed here also or are there other things i should check first?
Thanks!

Personally since you were running in grass and ran for 10 minutes, those temps don't sound bad. Track conditions (assuming dirt) probably will be lower temps. You can drop a pinion size though to be on the safe side.

Sorry about that.
The DOA were caused by bad Deans plugs. I know this sounds dumb but the truth after we started seeing the packs come back we did some checking and some kind of film was covering the connector not allowing current to flow.
The puffed one I can't say what happened with it.
As far as the long wait yes after the 4s pack was released the demand was alot higher than expected and we ran out of inventory and had to wait for more to arrive. I hope our service depart took care of you when we did get more inventory.
Again sorry for the problems.

The temps are actually good, motor is actually still cool since the pro4's can run up to 180 and be safe, esc a little high but still ok...... I recommended the gearing because I remember him stating what tracks he may run at (OCRC,WCRC) and for WCRC I ran an 12/62 with my 4600kv motor and it was perfect........
