For those of you that might be interested...I chose to "stick" with the stick packs (too many packs invested) and wanted to do the "BK fan MOD". I mounted up two 25mm fans. I am running 16T pinion with a 60T V2 center diff. Pretty tall gearing, but after a ten minute Main my ESC/MOTOR temps were 135/165 with an ambient temp of 95 degrees out. So I am pretty happy with the fans. I had to chop off the rear Exotek chassis piece, Mod the rear bottom chassis piece, Mod the rear top chassis piece, and Mod the RX box to allow the fans sufficient space behind them. Here are some pics:

I can't believe you did that to that chassis - if you wanted to keep the flex out, you murderized it.

The install looks sano, but what was wrong with mounting them up on top?

Craig, I drove the car, didn't notice any extraordinary chassis flex issues. I tried a top mounted fan, didn't work. The fans would get hit with debris and just didnt cool from the top and end of the can. These fans are very close to the motor, they run the length of the motor, works for me. Besides, I asked my girlfriend if it didn't work out would she buy me another chassis? She said chop it and of course sweetheart!

I just bought another one! It was on eBay, I have the FT and this one is just the kit BUT has the FT upgrade, exotek chassis, STRC steering/hubs/tensioners, RPM arms, two good shells and some other shiny bits. I'm going to have to decide which one to use and which to break.

I popped my first ever ball stud on this truck this week, hard to put back on so I'll just leave it. They are still the best ball studs I've ever used.

I'm running the castle 1410 without a fan and after a 7 min race the motor temps at 155.

Why doesn't anyone ever use the clicker on this truck.I decided to try it yesterday in the 3rd heat and it made the truck awsome entering corners. The corner speed was a lot better than before.I was able to take the tq and the win in the main.

I do use the clicker. While it's much harder to bring the nose down on a jump, cornering works better when it's open.

Default 14/60 VS 12/62

What differences are you guys seeing-feeling between the 62 vs 60 spur gears and stepping up 1 or 2 on the pinion. More mid pull??

Higher gearing will give you higher top speed, but less low end acceleration, and also more heat.

Im with the higher gearing thing, Correct me if I'm wrong here, If you drop to a 60 Spur and step up to a 14 pinion the ratio remains the same ?, but if you only step up to a 13 pinion it then changes the ratio and the way the truck pulls off the bottom and middle??
Craig,WC, you guys want to chime in here?
