Chris, which motor/esc/servo did you end up deciding on?
I keep flipping between MMP and RX8, but think I have the others figured out.
T8 1900 and RadioPost multi (green) servo are where I'm currently headed.

Are any of the current Tekno drivers running without an external bec?
If so, what electronics are they running?

Any word from there drivers how tough this thing is? Compare to a Mugen or Xray?

Obviously parts support at my LHS will be non-existant, and I HATE waiting weeks for parts lol!

Default quick question

Does anyone know if the longer center drive shaft is a CVD or a dongbone? I can't really see the front diff, under the steering brace in the pictures.

There using dog bones front and rear because the driveshafts are in a straight line, no need for a cvd

They all drive here at my local track and I haven't seen anything fail yet, and they drive em hard too. I have a VE8 I have on a Tekno V4 conversion. I have yet to break anything from Tekno on it. If the EB48 is anything at all like that were going to be very happy with it.

Yeah thats what Im hoping for. But I did just snap the chassis on my SCTE.

So was wondering if there was a few parts I should get right at ordering time.

I would think the usual stuff I keep on hand with my D8 would be a good start with the EB48.

set of front and rear arms, two bulkhead cases, same front and rear fro the D8, think its the same for the EB48 too. Set of shock towers if your realy hard on them and maybe a set of front and rear hubs and knuckles.

But again, just holding one and watching them drive I cant see them going out on your unless you hit a wall at full speed!

Default EB48 Durability Report

Like Acill said, we beat them up pretty good down here at SDRC and other tracks in the area. While we're very pleased with the durability, it is not indestructable and parts do eventually wear out.

Normal wear items to have on hand (no particular order):
hinge pin inserts
rod ends
bumpers
spur gears (composite, rare to strip one, but they eventually wear)
shock o-rings (regular / normal maintenance required)
diff rebuild stuff (o-rings, seals, case, regular / normal maintenance required)
the rear outdrives wear a little faster due to the dog bone sweep, but nothing abnormal
shock bushings (the part inside the shock cap eyelet that fits the shock standoff)
Rear center shaft pins wear eventually. Front dog bone may wobble if you repeatedly lawn dart, but they have been pleasantly trouble free.

Things that commonly brake on other cars but NEVER broke during testing:
rear hubs
steering blocks
spindle carriers
bulkheads
drive shafts (bent a couple)
wing mount (deformed a little, but never broke)
A bunch of other stuff never broke

Parts that we broke/damaged during testing (no particular order):
*rear arm (3 broken in 9 months among 7 test cars), 0 production rear arms broken.
*front arm (~10 broken in 9 months among 7 test cars), most of those were not the production material (only 2 broken production arms), every arm break was a major crash, like straight into a pipe or dropping 15ft out of the air right onto the arm. We feel other cars would not have survived these crashes either and we walked away from a lot of crashes we felt other cars would have broken from. Keep some handy like you would with other cars.
*we bent some front shock towers early on, but have since updated to 6mm thick 7075 aluminum, no issues now.
*shock shafts (3-4 broken in 9 months among 7 test cars)
*We had some issues early on with our hinge pin braces. We redesigned them and produced them from 7075 aluminum and not a single issue since.
*We're all still running the same chassis we started with. They wear eventually, but they sure are lasting a long time.
*we bent 1 inner hinge pin and 1 rear outer hinge pin in 9 months.

We will probably post this report on our website soon as well.

We're still trying for mid-July. The factory didn't machine the steering posts correctly so they are redoing them as fast as they can. There have been a couple other production delays, but we're managing everything with minimal impact so far. We may have a more definitive date next week if we don't find any more production issues. We don't see any huge delays or issues as of now.
