Most that are using the slipper will use 5k in the rear and anywhere from 10k to 30k in the front.
I think AE suggests 20k in the newest print of the manual.
Those running the center ball diff are running 5k rear and 5k to 7k front.

I also have these plus 10K.
I am using 5k rear and 10K front with the VTS Slipper and stock pads. When I get my V2 Center Diff I plan to drop the front to 7k or 5k. It all depends on how your truck turns, brakes, and provides power.

However, 13/62 is not always the correct gearing for all 550 motors and all tracks... but with your post count you already know that.
Hey..hey..I was told the manual is WRONG..and I got chastised for bringing it up..maybe a week ago..this was on gearing and suggested ride height..so be carefull getting "stuff" outta the manual..maybe a stickey on what part of the manual you can "believe" and what parts BS..some of us are new to the platform so we don't know..FUM

But I know that even back when I picked up this truck 30k was the suggestion from many... AE just hadn't caught up yet.
When I got mine in October, the manual suggested 7k... So I don't go by that, just the build steps.
The manual is only giving one suggestion and it is not correct for all. I think it suggested 12/62 or something like that and that happened to be correct for the motor that I was running indoor, but I needed a 13 outdoor so it was not correct in that case.
Now I'm 13 everywhere with a 4 pole motor

Are you suggesting we all get together and give you a hug for the flaming your recieved?
I was running 62/12 onm y Ballistic 550 4.5t and just increase to 13t. I will be running large 8th scale tracks so I think this should work fine. The person telling you that you had no clue, has no clue.
Yeah, coyote hates it when we mention the manual
