I'm kinda confused about the runtimes I read here.. My track is closed for winter and won't open until march or april, so I have no chance to run my sc10 4x4 yet. However, my slash 4x4 (and 2WD for that matter) on that track (small-medium sized, astroturf), using stock VXL setup, easily ran 20-25 mins on a 5000 mAh LiPo. Do the 550 sized motors eat up that much more power or why the large difference?

Ok, here’s version 2 of my centerline stick pack config. AE battery cups I was using are now gone, battery sits directly on the center chassis, held in position with 4 standoffs I made out of the original battery locator plastic. Handmade fiberglass brace, attaches to the front with m3 post screwed into the original battery strap hold down lever locations(There is one on each side). Battery can be run all the way forward, middle or back.

Attaches to the back hole of the rear upper brace where it used to attach to the center chassis section.

Actually works pretty well and seems to be stiff enough that I don’t need the rod brace, at least I raced it last weekend with no issues.

Pretty happy with the handling, truck seems overall more stable, consistent and balanced. Thinking I may make one out of carbon fiber but not sure yet. We’ll see how durable this is.
