One person has a problem jumping 30 feet and noa everyone thinks there is something wrong with their ride.
Most of us are not gonna experience this kind of jumping problem on a 1/10 scale track.
if you want it to jump like a buggy, buy a buggy. We have big bodies, they parachute, deal with it.

Exactly.
Let me break it down.
I primarily compete in the RCPro state and national series in my region (Texas, Louisiana, Arkansas, Oklahoma, Mississippi) and travel to what big races I can (Southern Nats, JConcepts Clash, AMS, Silver State (maybe), Dialed Race, Shortcourse Showdown, etc).
All of these tracks, except for the Shortcourse Showdown races, are designed for the premier class: 1/8th nitro buggy. Everything else just has to deal with it, which includes 4wd SC (if I so choose to race it, and I do).
Most tracks don't have a make-it-or-break-it jump that the SC's can even make, but when they do and the Losi's can hit it, it becomes a huge disadvantage.
That is the crux of the discussion at hand, nothing more, nothing less.
On small 1/10th tracks with average sized jumps, of course the truck is great.
Let me break it down.

Has anyone thought about running some kind of underbody to taper the air out the sides of the body to cause more of an arrow effect under the body instead of a Parachute?
Example: The Proline Scale Driver lexan underbody with a directional bottom? Create a flat plate across the entire truck so the air doesn't enter the body at all? (a psuedo buggy style)
I hope someone understands what I mean. Roughly, making the Short course body a closed up shell with forced airflow underneath the chassis itself?

I have made an under tray that completely covers the under side of the truck. Something like the under side if a sports car(full size). You still have to jump correctly. When you leave with the nose in the air it is actually harder to correct because the plate becomes a flat air stop and slows the truck down. With holes in the body like we most have it can at least bleed off the air. Now if you leave correct with the nose more down the truck slides through the air better and farther. You must not leave the face of the jump on the throttle. The truck will jump correct and land better in my testing.
so I guess this comes down to reeming the holes in the right spot to allow for more brake/throttle control in the air.

Is making it heavier the solution to big jumps? If so someone can design/machine the arms and front n rear parts of the chassis out of aluminum or something.
Im.sure someone will figure it.out. Didnt realize so many peeps run on 1/8 layouts.
At PNB , Jeremy.Kortz who kicked everybodys butt had literally swiss cheesed his body to make.it work. That is a Huge truggy layout kinda track. Laptimes.are around 60 seconds.

At the 1992 NORRCA Nats, he was the class of the field in 2w Factory and Factory Truck. What I remember is him and BK going 1-2 and 2-1 in truck, racing it up for the win door to door, and both breaking in the exact same spot on the track after the tone when they were the only ones to make the last lap.
Jeremy was just a kid back then, and had spent most of his time during practice playing pranks on his Losi teammates, mostly involving CA and stuff in their pits that became adhered to the plywood workbenches at Racers Haven. It was pretty funny to watch, it would of SUCKED to have happen. It was 109 under the cover, Jeremy was destroying everything, and people were already miserable from the heat.
