Default squeaky CVAs

I was out at the track today and my truck started squeaking bad especially when turning. I tracked the noise down to the CVAs, since this truck was a RTR it did not come with any extra lube and the CVAs are dry as a bone. Will standard black grease work and what keeps them from gumming up? How often should they be cleaned and greased?

I clean my CVD's every few race days, about 3-4. I personally use losi great grease for my CVD's. If all you have is Black grease, It'll do just fine.

Thumbs up Removed diff out drive slop

So I finally got my 5x10x3 bearings in the mail and fixed up the slop in the diff out drives. The mod removed 90% of the slop and is now wobble-free.
Thanks to the original poster for telling us about the mod.

Cut the ends of the case down from this:

To this:

Add 5x10x3 bearings:

Wow, that looks crazy!

Can you measure how much you removed or left? Thanks!

I didn't measure it but I kept grinding them down till the smaller bearing seated flush with the bigger bearing. I'd say 1.5-2mm. Totally worth it. The bearings were less than $8 shipped through Avid.

Bearings aren't a problem.

Thanks, I may have to give this a shot!

Yeah. Sorry guys. I just don't have time to test that for selling them to you guys. I won't sell them unless I am sure what I did won't have an issue. By the time I can, The FT will be out, and ..........................

It better be fixed!

The Batch of Chassis Braces is going out Monday morning, the 23rd. I'm sorry these have taken so damn long. I ended up having to get the Axial Orange washers, but they are rather hidden with the Tierod ends anyway. I wanted blue, they were Disc. I decided on Gray, and they were out of stock. Been battered left and right for stock the last two weeks. I'm now waiting for parts(not out of stock! YAY) for the second batch and those all seem to be in stock. So the next back (you latest orders guys) will be sent out that Friday of the same week.

I'm very sorry it's been way too slow than I normally am. I usually get these out the morning after you ask for one. But Christmas boned the warehouses and thus, ME!

I think it is a vital mod for the truck, the weight down low is a real benefit and it eliminates 95% of the flex. You do not need a brace with it.
