I'm waiting on some tools to tear into this thing, but what fluids do you guys recommend me buying for the rebuild?

Anything I should be looking out for?
Shock fluid from 25 - 35wt. Diff fluid 5k or 7k for rear. Front will vary widely but for stock set up ( unpinned or no center diff) try something around 30k

I run the DE AE wheels. Have been since my stock wheels and barcodes wore out. The plan was to use the JC hazards next. The problem is a have like 6 sets of wheels and tires. It's going to take forever to go through them all. The de wheels seems to lose round fairly easily.

I race against a guy who runs slash fronts all the way around. I did some measuring and found at the slash fronts put the SC104x4 at +30mm!!!!

He beat me last week, but he doesn't beat me normally. He can blast the sweeper on the track like a mother though.

Thinking about bringing out the big guns next week. hahaha

I think my RC8 conversion is even less than +30, see how like that beast on the track.hahahaha

Pinned or unpinned refers to the mod that pins the inner belt pulley to the topshaft. You don't need it, I woulnd't worry about that.

The center diff is the part RCSHOX.COM makes. I would pick one those up. It's a ball diff that replaces the stock slipper assy.

So it sounds like some track have no rules when it comes to racing SC. The extra 6mm puts the truck at it's maximum allowed width according to ROAR rules. Traxxas wheels would not be allowed at any track I have raced at.

Yeah, there really aren't any rules on club days/nights here. Most everyone plays by the honor system. There's no tech inspections going on.

Default Saddle Packs

I see a lot of guys are using saddle packs in their 4x4. What is the advantage over the stock position? Also, what modification is needed or is there a part for it?

I have an exotek chassis and I was wondering if i should buy their saddle pack conversion that bolts right on and mounts them foward or would making my own mount that mounts them inline be better?

I melted a spur Gear Today, ran 4 batteries straight and then lost power. I thought it Was the pinion spun off but the spur melted and warped. I think the slipper was Too loose.

That will do it,,,, hence the slipper clutch basket, pinned shaft, and other topshaft modifications.

I would not get the screw set batt saddle. Get the Velcro one. I had to play around with screw and modify.
