I run the 120a Sct pro xerun and love it, stays very cool to the touch as well, can't beat the price. From what I have seen there is no difference between the hobbywing speed controls and what speed passion and team Orion offer besides price and the hw guys are pretty active here on the forums, maybe not as in your face as the murfdogg and Novak repa

Generally you pay more for better service but I find it hard to stand behind a company that can't stand behind their own products for more than 90 or 180 days.

I'm reading that the top shafts can bend in this truck. Don't see how that possible as they are fairly thick, but is this something I should keep handy?

You should have a extra top shaft if you plan on running a "pinned" setup. I havent heard of people braking top shafts or bending them when they are running the standard slipper.

Gotcha...I plan on using the clutch basket with 2 High torque pads and 1 standard pad.

Already have the sways front and rear, spring kit and chassis brace.

Stupid question, when using an HD and an SD pad in the basket does it matter which is outside vs. which is inside?

I know Tekin is good but for some reason i cant keep one longer than 2 weeks with out failure ,I have friends that have had the same one for a year, its just luck of the draw!! Guys if you really think that any of the boards on these ESC's are made in America you are mislead, and that also goes for the truck kits. Its a simple fact that an avg American makes more in a day than a laborer in China makes in a month. Hobbywing makes Orion and Speedpassion ESC's, i run Speedpassion software in my Hobbywing ESC's!!

Tshirts now available!!

Also from this week on if you order the triple disc set it nos comes with a B4 disc to use on the outside to help control the rear, this makes the engagement softer for all of you basket users!

Almost all of the pre-orders have been shipped, and the rest should go out today! those who pre-ordered this weekend are scheduled to be shipped out fri/mon
That Ackbar is gorgeous. Nice.

BTW, that charger is 300w. I'm really going to charge at 2s a 20 amps. I would of bought this one:

http://www.rcplanet.com/Thunder_Power_TP1430C_1_14_Cell_LiPo_DC_30A_Charge _p/thp1430c.htm

But I'm not convinced charging at 30 amps is such a good idea. I don't know if charging at 20 amps is such a good idea.
Specs show it will only do 20a charge, Craig. Better check that out.

And btw. Charging at 20a is fine. We do it all day long with TP batteries. Course, I buy quality stuff so charging some Gen-ace or whatever, I would back away and find cover.

Make sure you use the Balance board Every. Time. If you charge it at over it's capacity without the Board, you will burn the battery to oblivion.

I'm all for supporting my LHS, but that is a two way street. They need to support me. And the economics of how that business work these days doesn't lend itself to supporting racers the way it did 15 or 20 years ago because there are so many different models and running changes now. When the new one comes out, you're stuck with all the service parts as dead inventory because nobody wants them anymore.

From my experience, once you tell a customer "We don't have that, but we can order it!" you have lost a ton of value you bring to the transaction because the customer can usually go online and order it too. And when it's an hour and a half round trip to pick up a $5 item they are going to have to order anyway, well, it changes things.

I miss having Ultimate Hobbies ten blocks from my house. They had everything. My only regret is when I lived there, I worked so much to afford it I didn't have the time to race as much as I do now.
If we had the space to park every item imaginable so we would never have to say that... We would. But we're a Local Hobby Shop with a Huge slice of our profits taken into Chinese Shit. We 'can't' expand to get to that point. Thus it will never be. We do 2 day orders and no shipping. If that's a "Turn off"? I guess there was no pleasing them to begin with.

I ran a Sidewinder before I had the funds to get my MMP in my SC10 4x4 with no issues. Fan strapped on it and away I went using the 1415 too. (big boy)

Those Sidewinders are either bulletproof or delicate. (Like Traxxas electronics)

At that price you have many other options too. I haven't ran Orion so someone else will have to give ya a thumbs up or thumbs down.
