If you have to use thread lock to keep a pinion on, there's a problem. Just put the pinion on, tighten it, set your gear mesh and put the truck on the ground, give it a couple pulls of the throttle, then, recheck your gear mesh and snug the pinion set screw and motor screws down again. Never had a problem in 20+ years of RC racing.

I drilled a small hole in the chassis directly under where the pinion set screw should be. I never have a problem. and befor that, I just used this:

any one have a trick to get the pinion on tight? i can't seem to get a allen in to get the set screw tight. my pinion has come off twice now. the truck runs good got the binding issues fixed. but i am going to take it back apart because i just read about the diffs not having enough fluid in them.
He thinks that he is PERFECT and never makes a mistake and that when someone else does, its the end of the world. He just needs to get a life or just go kill himself...
that is correct, I just confirmed it on my truck. 32 pitch, 13t, 14t, 15t, 16t, 17t, 18t, 19t are all to big to fit thru the hole in the motor plate.
