SC10 4x4 Thread
Slightly larger than the stock discs, a little less slip. Run the two standard ones in the basket and it'll be kind of even.
If you hadn't bought the basket, two garodiscs are okay. You can run three garodiscs, but I suspect that it will bias the torque too much to the rear. That's what happens when you run three HD pads in the basket decoupled.
Now that I have the whole 540 thing figured out, I'm going back to experiment with a decoupled slipper. I may even take the basket out.

Since you already have a basket then just order the triple kit which now is specifically designed to work with the MTK clutch basket. it comes with two normal Garodisc and one "narrow" disc that you put on the outside , it has less surface area which in turn keeps the basket from engaging too hard and too fast. really smooths it out nicely.
The description for the dual Garodisc on the site does not say not to use them , it says "non clutch basket". Not everyone uses the basket especially on loose tracks so for those people they can just order two.

Looking for some opinions on these 2 ESC's. This will be powering a Novak Ballistic 4.5 in my SC10 4x4. I've seen lots of people running the RX8's, but not so many running the LRP. Anyone out there running an LRP? Or better yet, anyone tried both that they can provide an opinion on which one to go with?

rx8 with sc4x 4.5T
and
lrp sxx tc spec with novak ballistic 540 6.5t with 13mm rotor
The truck feels so much more nimble with the 540 and has more top
The two esc's feel very similar as the truck is heavy compared to a 2wd so 'smoothness' is no different. Also I don't even run the esc fan on either and they both run around 105F
If I started over I would go lrp unless I wanted to run the pro4 4000 then I would have to go rx8
what diff oils do you recomend with the center diff, on a track that is for the most part smooth, is dry, blue groove, with a little bit of dust build up? (Outacontrol raceway on youtube)
Thats because you have a combination of low grip tires and a mild motor!! throw some gridirons on it with a pro4 and the problems will show up!
Edit: I quickly threw this together but this is what i'm sitting at: Setup Sheet
On power; like I said, I have to power off completely to break the back end out right now in order to maintain the tight line. It's the only way for me to get around without a much larger sloooooooooow turn.
5k rear, 10k Front
0 camber
I've got them unscrewed 2 turns.

I hear comments like that all day long... I smile and walk away.

I have pretty much the exact same setup and also noticed a little bit of push on-power comming off center, but had a ton of off-power steering to the point of doing 180's with just a little too much breaks. However I think it will be just about perfect for me at the dirt track, might go down to 7k in the front and see if that squares it.
Also I forgot to reset the ride height so it was pretty much at it's lowest setting both front and rear and noticed a lot of weight transfer to the back wheels.
I did get some slip out of the center diff mostly punching from a stop or from a backwards roll after a 180. I screwed it down with the cheasy tool that comes with the kit, may be able to get it a little tighter with a socket wrench.
I also used the ACERGoo grease on the balls, may have been to thick or slick to use a ball grease and let it slip a little.
All in all I really liked the handling with those upgrades espically when you compare to stock or basket where I had to run 30k up front to keep it straight.
