I am swapping the v3 pinion setup into the nitro buggy and with 3 shims behind the pinion in the front it's so tight it barely turns. I took a shim out and it's better more like what I remember when I built the e bug. Thanks.
Don't forget that the V3 e-buggy pinion is 13T and the nitro car is a 10T pinion. Not sure if the tranny cases are different to allow for this or not. If not, you'll probably have to shim the diff to move the gear side farther away from the the pinion. And you'll have to go to a smaller clutch bell.

Thanks pork
the row with 3 holes from bottom to top is 5 4 3

so the next row form bottom to top is 1 2

so you run the 2 hole row top hole

and then the hole on the hub close to the wheel

i would try the link then the oil so you know what does what

Case is the same case, I changed the r/p, coupler, pin retainer and boot. The only thing that's different from the e car is the avid 8x19 bearing instead of a serpent bearing. I did my homework and it's a direct swap into the nitro buggy.

I posted 1 right after I built it. It's several pages back. Here it is again. This was the 1st time on the track and my setup has changed since this video.

Buggy looks good Frank. Would be interesting to see an updated video with your current set up.

Lip, I think you will find that the front and rear axles are slightly different with the rear ones have the extra lip on it to mount the boot to. The front ones don't appear to have this.
But do you really need them? From my experience it's the rear that gets all the dirt etc and with the steering action the boots probably wouldn't last very long. I know on my DEX410 they last five minutes at most and now I just don't bother with them.
Perhaps you could fit somehting onto the drive shaft that would shield the CVJ from dirt without actually touching the wheel axle? A cut down boot for example.
