I haven't been as excited about a servo in a long time. Just ordered the T-180 for my EB410.

Did you used the servo arm provided with the servo or the Tekno one?

The tekno servo arms are very nice.

Well bad news for my pocket book, I'm going to have to buy 2 more 120s. Switching between savox 1251 and t120 is to drastic.

This 120 is a very nice servo

Well, the servo interface is fantastic. Great to see the zero position, transit time etc. Haven't played with any of it so far, but so many options!

I did use the provided servo horn. Works well, no clearance issues on the EB410. You will love the 180!

I don't own anything tekin and thinking about getting a t-180 for my wheeler to try them out. Do I have to have a hot wire or can I buy the servo, drop it in my wheeler and go? thanks

Darkgenerals 07-11-2018 10:41 AM

Drop in and go

One of the best features of the tekin servos and hot wire is, you can put the servo horn on anywhere. No power needed to center the spline rotation then add the horn. Install the servo with hor,n hook up the hot wire and set the center.

Still always a good idea to at least power up the servo and let it center before putting arm on so you are close to the factory center. Yes it is awesome you can set center anywhere, but in case you accidentally reset it or something you do not want it trying to turn 120deg to get to center and stressing your linkages... It does have a center when you get it and what it goes back to if you reset the settings.

You can drop it right in like any other servos....except this one is cooler with so many programming options :P

are they worth the money?

like a lot of things in this hobby, there is no simple yes or no answer. For some yes. The features and levels of adjustment are the attraction. I’m curious, but I’m still a dinosaur with tech stuff.

Darkgenerals 07-23-2018 07:13 PM

Personally, yes they are. The speed and torque is very nice. In order to get my savox 1251 to match my t120. I have to run the savox at 7.4 volts, were as the tekin is at 6v

The t400 in my mt410 has no problems moving the huge tires standing still. So I very much recommend them to any one i talk to

Well. Ill be trying a t-250 for steering and a t180 for the throttle in my nitro buggy. I believe the t180 which I initially purchase for my wheeler is going to be more than adequate for a throttle/brake servo. Any thoughts?

While the T180 has the power/speed to run as a throttle/brake servo; may I suggest the T190? You may throw off the weight bias on your car running a low profile servo, something you don't see the pro drivers doing ;)

JRSlash 07-30-2018 08:22 AM

Well.... I tried the new servos on my nitro car. The T180 for throttle/brake (I originally purchased this for a wheeler a while back) and the T250 for steering and I can tell you that they worked flawlessly and really, really smooth. Well done tekin.... well done...
