Tekin Hotwire 3.0 Bluetooth Thread

I was using my PC but I did try the Andriod app also. Same results. According to the link posted above v258 may be the newest version available for the RS Gen 2. However when I started this ESC had 272 in it so IDK what to think.

What I've found is I've got to have location on and sometimes turn Bluetooth on and off then works like a charm.

Yes we are adding 272 back into the Hotwire program for the Rx8gen2 so people can access the active drag brake feature.
We are not adding 272 back into the Hotwire for RSgen2, RSgen2 Spec, or RSX because it is not ROAR approved for those units.
If you really want 272 back and where you race does not care you can use this link to get an older version of the Hotwire that has it.

No issues with 272 other than we did not get it ROAR approved. We found some improvements and ended up moving on to 276 before we could get it approved due to the delays at the time for ROAR testing. Unfortunately we shipped some units with 272 at that time because we did intend to get ROAR approved or we would not have released it to the public at all. For ROAR racing all units are limited to version 258 which has the exact same spec mode so there is no difference.
We typically do not release any versions that are not ROAR approved to make it easy for our customers and Tech at the races. However 272 does have a new cool feature we call Active Drag. For those that do not care about ROAR legal spec racing and want the Active Drag feature we are happy to give 272 to them. We did not leave it in the public version of the hotwire so people did not unknowingly update to 272 and show up at a race where it matters and saving them the hassle of having to revert to 258 last minute at the race.

I'm getting back into 2wd buggy stock racing. Just bought a older model but brand new RS Gen2 with HotWire. Upgraded it via the pc with no issues but the Bluetooth app is a bit strange. My Android phone connects, the app recognises it but when it try's to read my settings it disconnects. Then says HotWire not found. If I reconnect it just does it again. My phone sees it as HotWire via Bluetooth but it just cannot stay connected.
Any ideas?

Yet another one getting back into the RC scene after a long absence. Not surprising the new tech is somewhat daunting, so please bear with me. Anyway, I recently purchased a Hotwire 3.0 and it seems I have completely bricked my RX8 Gen 3 and the Hotwire 3.0. When I first connected to my PC via USB, everything appeared to connect and then dropped the connection. After that my RX8 went dark and would only operate the steering servo yet displayed no lights. I attempted many times thereafter trying to reconnect via USB and BT to no avail. The program I removed and reinstalled the SW multiple times without success. Any thought on a fix will be appreciated.

Still waiting for a response to my email from Tekin on my Hotwire 3.0 bricked RX8, and have another question. If the Hotwire 3.0 is using data/fan port, how do you connect the fan?
