A fresh version of the iOS app should be out very soon. Hopefully this fixes those glitches?
This issue occurs in the iOS app that was updated a few hours ago. Or is there already another version on the way?

Nope. I didn't realize it finally was released. I would take some screen shots or video and send it to Tekin to help fix any bugs you experience.

Just wondering here is much good knowing this ESC. I bashing my high power 1/8 buggy with many years Castle Mamba Monster 2, any you use Tekin RX8 bashing and have any experiences Mamba vs Tekin.

My setup is:
6s 60C 3.3Ah lipo
2000kv 4072 motor or little more powerfull 1600kv 4082 motor.

Any information and tips/hints how this esc working to bashing etc are welcome.

my loved Tekin RS gen 1... died after many years of racing.. carpet mostly , pan car.. behind it was the paired 17.5 Tekin gen 1..

my RS died two weeks ago... running a Tekin 10.5 gen 3.. in a Associated SC5M on dirt. ( 2 wheel drive )
1 year in this setup.

my question...
NO one has the RSX pro in stock.. and most are saying February before any will be available.

dealer offered a Tekin RX8 gen 3 .. DID I just make a mistake ???
YES, I did OK, ordered it.

Futaba 4PLS and R304SB receiver., Futaba 3305 steering servo.
battery 2S, 6200, 120 C lipo battery.
Total racing weight is 5 pounds and 3 ounces.

for the record.. they said they had ONE RSX pro in stock, so I ordered it..
3 days later they called and said they could not find it in the warehouse.

For the mod class, nothing particularly wrong with using an RX8. However, the RX8 only operates in dual mode (uses the sensors to start the motor at low rpm and then switches to sensorless mode until the rpm drops again. This primarily means that 2 pole motors won't have enough timing and will run kind of sluggish compared to running them in sensored only mode with an RS or RSX. Won't damage anything, but you technically aren't legal for a spec class where you have to run in blinky mode.

THANK YOU Sir....

I have never ran blinky.. or plan to. and I have been running MOD only 1 season.

we have a large track with many 180 degree slow turns.. 3 sets of double jumps.. and about 6 single jumps.
I am guessing a Tekin 10.5 gen 3 is a 2 pole motor ?
my gearing is 19/78... works well with the RS gen 1....
I also remember the RS gen 1 was rated for 5 pound truck MAX.

I agreed to the RX8... because it is printed its also for 1/10 scale 4x4 truck.
it was to arrive here 3 days ago... still not here... USPS reports its in route..
but was to be delivered Saturday.
second thought... with limited traction maybe a soft low end might be OK.

Torque control (current limiter) vs expo (via radio). Just curious if anyone has experience with using ESC torque control vs adding expo in radio. We race on a loose outdoor surface that marbles up when it is dry. I am curious to know how it would differ using one vs the other to slow down the wheel spin coming out of the corner.

I race at Penitas Race Track... very south Texas.
I use torque control set at 70 percent and use expo 2... less agressive... and Finger control.

same type of dirt ( I think )
water can sit on top of dirt.. slick
or marbles up real bad as the sun comes out.

received my RX8 gen 3 last night.... WOW, it is large.. compared to a RS gen1
Not using the fan

short evaluation .. aka 2 minute test.
much better brakes,, both power and control.
smother throttle control., a little quicker acceleration, on blacktop anyway.
NO more removing the wires out of the receiver to hook up hotwire 2.
NO solder on capacitor to install
BEC / control signal wires are much thicker.. ( red/white/black) I guess for the 8 amp BEC.
also the BEC is 6.0 volts.... not the old 5.7 volts as in the RS gen 1.

with power wires .. it added 2 ounces to the SC5M...
not a big issue.. I have 2 1/2 ounces of lead stuck to the rear of truck,, 2 sided tape comes off..
.
<<<<<<<<<<<....................................... .............>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>.

my good old RS gen 1.. running a Tekin 10.5 gen 3 and pushing a truck a little over 5 pounds....
the 10.5 is the safe limit of the RS gen 1
and being over 5 pounds is OVER the RS rating..

as for install....
I run a Stick lipo battery ( 6200 ) , yes I altered the mounts.. 3 years ago..
so RX8 is mounted on top of the battery near the motor,,. as was the RS gen 1.

the RS gen 1,,, gave up.. 1 lap after I broke the track record by 3/10 of a second...
now set at 41.9 seconds.. that is correct... one lap .
I started to RC race in 1991... no gaps..
this is my second time to break a track record ( first time was 2002 )... a small price to pay.
YES, our races are 5 minute races.. 2 heats and a main.

I am looking forward to run the RX8.

man, the Tekin RX8... is super...

I need to work on timing... and frequency...

second time using the RX8... came in first in heats 1 and 2, and took the main ( sweep )...NEVER done that before in Mod.
Rc10SC5m, Tekin 10.5 gen 3 motor.. ( smallest motor in the field )

end bell timing is set at 20... RX8 timing is 20 degrees... stock frequency ( 6000 ) I think.

Any alternative power switches for the RX8 G3 we can use?

A search of this thread does not find anything - I'm wondering if my collection of RX-8 G2 and G3's are OK for use with 6S HV LiPo? That would be 26.1v initially instead of 25.2v...?

LiHV for future searchability

Only 0.9v but better safe than smoky

It should handle the slightly higher voltage fine as long as you are using a proper 6s motor.
