Futaba 4PX

I'm super happy with the cost of upgrading on this one. I sold all of my old airtronics used receivers for more than it cost me to buy the brand new ones for this radio.

Agreed.
I like and support their full-featured products and have so since the 80s.
The product compatibility I was referring to was new Futaba 4PX to work with existing Futaba branded 2.4 FASST RXs.
As customers, we do have a voice and tend to make our buying decisions based on cost vs. value add.

I've been following the 4PX release for a while now.
I'm very hesitant to buy any electronic product when it is first released because history has shown that there are usually a few bugs and kinks to be worked out.
So with that said, I bought a 4PKS-R from TH last week. They had it marked down to $400 for one day. (Plus a $50 coupon code so $350 total shipped.) Obviously, it isn't as cutting edge as the 4PX but it does have a history of reliability and performance.
A lot of radios are getting more and more complicated. Adding telemetry to any radio easily doubles the complication factor for me. I suppose eventually all radios will go the telemetry route.
I've gone through the M11x, DX3R, M12 and now the 4PKS-R. All of them were/are decent radios and all of them had good points and weak points. I can't say that I prefer any of them over any of the others. I can say that all 3 brands I've run have lousy support, in my opinion. (Maybe I am spoiled by Tekin's support model?) To me that makes it that much more critical to find a platform that is proven.
YMMV
