Testing is limited to what radios people around me have and our club is very small. MT4-S is a possibility we had it and wanted to test but it needs more disassembly to access the steering.

This was some tremendous work. I did notice a big difference in latency and connectedness when I went from 3PM to 4pksr. However so far the difference between the 4pxr running T-Fhss race mode and 4pksr running Fasst C2 was not very apparent to me after I upgraded. I guess the less than 1ms improvement was not significant enough for me to notice much. The difference in handle and trigger made bigger difference for me than the response.

Regarding the "1ms difference" that you aren't "feeling" between the 4pKs-R vs 4pX-r; I completely understand. It's all a personal point, as you probably would agree with as well.
However, please note that we don't have any actual test data for the 4pKs-R that indicates that it's only 1ms slower than a 4pX/X-R.
For me, the difference with consistency that I and others watching me saw on the track between the two Rx's (T-Fhss vs Fasst C2) are definitely related to either the Tx Frame Rate,
and or, the Rx Latency.

That's because Condac's test appears to show about a 1+ms difference in Minimum/Ave Latency, and 33Hz difference in TX Frame Rate between the two Rx's. 
Condac's hypothesis is that the latency would matter most, and I do not doubt his expertise on this; with that said, there is some accompanying data that suggest that Tx Frame Rate differences can also have some affects upon servo torque/holding power and steps: (https://www.helifreak.com/showthread.php?t=759753) and (https://www.helifreak.com/showthread.php?t=263175).

So if there's a 1ms difference on the 4pX just between two Rx's, there could be an even larger gap between the 4pX and 4pKs-R Tx's. Who knows?
NOTE: The 4pXr is the same speed as the 4pX (functional difference was Race Mode for a tested value of .1ms which Futaba made available for the standard 4pX as well; and yes I am aware that even a pValue of .05 and or manufacturing tolerances of even 1% make a .1ms difference insignificant. Which is to say that "your mileage may vary"

So Condac's independent test showed:
4pX/Xr w T-Fhss Rx: Min Latency = 2.2ms (standard) - 2.1ms(race mode)
Ave Latency = 4.6ms (Telemetry Off)
4pK w 614 Fasst Rx: Min Latency = 6.3ms
Ave Latency = 10.3ms
However, we have NO actual test as of yet for the 4pK-S/s-R
* Just for Grins and Giggles wouldn't it be hilarious if:
Condac got a 4pK-S and found that it split the difference; say with a
Min/Ave Latency = 4.2ms/7.2ms???







Personally, I wouldn't be surprised if a 4pK-S were actually slower than that though because
that would put it at about an M11-X and it seems like Futaba has been about a generation behind
Sanwa since the M11 unfortunately.

What we MAY be able to inference based upon Futaba's Claims are:
4pKs = up to half the latency of 4pK. *Futaba's Claim
4pkS = 5% slower than 4pks-R. *Futaba's claim

Remember that Futaba claimed that the 4pkS Tx was up to twice the speed of the 4pK; and that the 4pks-R Tx was 5% faster than the 4pkS.
However a number of Futaba's claims, whether printed or solicited from their Tech's/Engineer's seem to be mute based upon Condac's independent testing.


Until the radio manufacturer's divulge their testing methodologies, parameters, and results; I'll take Condac's work as authoritative vs. their marketing and verbal communique's.

Therefore I don't know what Condac's independent testing would yield for Min/Ave Latencies for a 4pK-s/s-R? This means that if Condac did test them, they could have Min/Ave Latency values that are more/less than only 1 ms slower than a 4pX/X-R. Which means that they simply may not have enough range for you to "feel" a difference like you did moving from your 3pm.
All of which simply says that different people may need larger or smaller ranges of either Latency, Frame Rate, or both, before they "feel" impacted.


. Of course, no one can truly say that their experiences are general for most others either; it's all about what every individual needs/feels.

Will probably have a 4pkS to test soon... One in our club have a 4pk with the text Super written on the side, I assume that is the 4pkS. Will test it at the same time as I do histograms of a 4pk and will test them with the exact same rx.

So theres noone else having issues with the steering glitching i can hold the steering at 50% either way and my servo is freaking out.. I tried cleaning by taking it apart and cleaning the connectors the best i could. it worked for a lil bit but this time i tried to clean it and its not making any difference. I cant be the only one with this issue

0. Check and eventually upgrade 4PX firmware
-check
1. Check cables and battery voltage -> you should proceed with all basic stuff working.
2. Check any mechanical failure/binding
-Check
3. Calibrate steering in 4PX
- check if it helps
4. Rebind and make sure that right servo type is set (digital/analog)
- check
5. Check what 4PX shows in servo view. If nothing suspicious ->
6. Change receiver to different one
- check
7. Try another servo preferably Futaba one
- check
If still fails - > cry and call Futaba service

Sorry that no one has responded to your question. Based on both Condac's test data and my experience on CRC high bite carpet I would offer the following:
If it's a large outdoor track the Fasst Rx with the antenna may work best due to range. If you need the fastest, most consistent, best steering power Rx, then you want a T-Fhss. If you need to run on a budget, and actually want to slow down your steering response the S-Fhss will work fine. Hope this helps.

The 4pX servo is set as DIGITAL by default. Try changing it to Analogue and see if that helps. Let us know if there is some improvement when you try this, even if it doesn't totally solve the problem.
