Does anyone know when the new chrome 4px comes out?

Dont like the idea of cleaning the potentio meters.
It takes awaymthe lubrication of the pot Isnt there a new improved pot available from futaba? They should be aware of the problems?. |
Too bad i'm now one of those unlucky people who purchased 4PX. received my unit from Tower. So excited to open it. Turned it on, DT2 is jammed to one side that sets the trim to 100 immediately and unit beeps non-stop. Then power button also is jammed when powering off. You have to press it again to release. And this is a $500+ radio!

For what it's worth, after using my 4PX for nearly a year now, and trying several other radios from guys at my local track, I have yet to pick up anything I want to hold more for 6 minutes at a time than my 4PX. So I while I don't regret my purchase overall, it is very dissapointing to see these issues with Futaba considering their history for quality (in my experience at least). |
Hello,
Yesterday i got my 4PX and im running some problems with the throttle trigger as it seems. When its on neutral pos and i go to servo view its on 0, if i trigger it to max throttle it goes 100, when i release it, it returns to 0. If now i press full brake it goes to -100, when i release it to neutral without pressing throttle again it stucks at -11 to -15. Is this normal ? The problem is i set my esc on Inferno GT2 to wide range on neutral position and it still "brakes" the car if i just release it and doesnt let it roll. Tension spring screw had no impact on this no matter if its lose or tightened. I read about steering issues but nothing about this "throttle" one. |
Here is the vid i made:

Try to recalibrate. Refer to manual how to.
It looks like this may not help the issue Kostas has though since the center point is changing depending on if the throttle or brake is being hit. I had a similar issue with my buddies 4PX when I reassembled it after cleaning the throttle pot; It ended up being the board that holds the throttle pot was slightly loose, allowing it to move a bit. I don't know exactly if this is your issue, but it seems likely from what I've seen. If you'd rather fix it yourself than waiting on Futaba warranty (and possibly the voiding warranty) read on.... I realigned the board by loosening the two screws that hold it in and moving it slightly until the Servo View showed it at 0. Then carefully tightened the two small screws and re-assembled. Just make sure the throttle is perfectly centered before assembling, its not fun to take apart because of all the areas that snap together around the screen. Most of the screws that hold it together are under the rubber grip, two by the battery, and a small one that gets revealed when you flip the antennae up. You probably want to clean the pot while you have it open, but marcel p does make a good point about not wanting to remove the lubrication. I've been consistently using my 4PX for a few months after I cleaned my pots, but I do not know what the long term effects may be. |

Of course i did calibrate and recalibrate the throttle more than 10 times so far and nothing changed. The center is never constant and moves from -10 to -19 or even -1 as it seems and its hardware or "moving parts" related that seem to stuck and need a little push to move back to neutral. If i release the brake with force it may reach the "0" zero point but if i pull it gently to zero it will stuck to -19 to -11.
Yes thats my issue and the problem is that the remote had this since i fired it up the first day i got it. The other problem with this is that it has a warranty sticker and i cant open it without braking it. Also you got any link to any manual or video of how to open it? Thanks in advance. |
I'm very confused about the FASST FHSS, 304/614 receiver modulation, etc etc
So I would like to buy the new Futaba 4PX (R? maybe). I read many comment on this forum that the Fasst system (receiver 614+4PK) is more faster then the FHSS (304 recevier+4PX)? Is it true? The Futaba 4PX is not 30% faster? |
