I'll be testing this pack soon and I"ll report back. So far first couple of cycles on my iCharger 308 I'm seeing at least 2800mAh and around 3.0mOhms average between the two cells in the pack for IR. I have a feeling when the pack has a few runs through it it will go down a bit. My SMC packs typically have a 2.5mOhm IR rating.
180 grs!! Dude check that mine only weighed 148 grs on my SkyRC scale and Protek shows the 2800 XLW at 147 grs.

1.8 is nothing to write home about.

You also mentioned cut gears, seen that to. Agian if at a big race and your car is susspected of cheating they can tech your car. There are also slipper eliminator's. Depending on the track, owner and I would even say the locals, some rules may be observed more then others. I wound not recommend over charging your batteries, (while I don't condone cheating) out side of that I say do what ever you can to keep up with LFG's . Just know if you ever plan to run a ROAR sanctioned event you will have to observe all ROAR rules. That's what I mean by practice like I race. Just my $.2!!!
Cut gears, ceramic bearings, MIP pucks, slipper eliminator..top 5% motors aren't illegal and most clubs don't have the time or resources to tech 100%..it is what it is..

So far the lowest IR I have seen is from my Nanotech 4200 packs from Turnigy. Which I've seen get down below 1.0 into the range of .7oHms. I have multiple packs from SMC and Turnigy and most of them are in the 2.0oHm range for IR.

For stock racing I would be looking for packs below 1.0oHm if I could find them.

Default Stock shock package

Should you change your shock package for stock. It seems with a lighter platform you should go to a lighter shock oil than normal. Is my thinking correct

Today at the track I saw a lot of the fast guys running ORCA batteries. 24K motors as well.

Cost money to go fast. I did manage to win my 2nd heat today which felt nice, since I dont have pucks.

Congrats on the win in the heat! I was looking at those 24k motors but I think I am going to settle on the Fantom FR-1.

I've been reading about batteries a lot. I ordered some SMC shorty 4400s and just received a ProTek "Supreme Power" Li-Poly 100C X-Lightweight. I just can't get over the size difference between these and my Reedy 5200. I needed the smaller battery for my LCG conversion.

Great to see some wins, keep it up! What type of surface are you running on?

Has anyone tried the new Orion Ultras? How do they compare to the Trinity white carbons? My understanding is that the Trinity's are the standard by which all are measured.

can the resistance measurement that the Hyperion line of chargers show be used at all? And am I correct in thats its a combo of the cells in the battery that is shown?

It's high bite clay, hard packed smooth , Indoor with some astroturf sections. You can run slicks, AKA Type O's, Worn dirt webs, chainlinks, electrons etc.

I have the SMC's and I like them a lot. Very affordable. They have a race spec formula which is a 4000 mah 100c that I want to try. I like them cause they are 4mm bullets as well.

Thanks for the kudos, once I settled down and focused my driving was on point.

As for the main that's a different story. Overall had a great time, learned a lot sitting by the sponsored fast guys.

Has anyone tried one of those LRP low CoG 2600mah that are like the size of half of a saddle pack? Do they have enough punch?

I saw those 4000 a day after I ordered two of the 4400s. I emailed them to see if they can swap one that I ordered for this one but he just got back to me today saying he was at a race and they already shipped. Let me know how it is if you get one. Since they are so cheap I am contemplating on just ordering it but I now already have plenty of batteries.

Awesome, I can't wait to race. I just got back into it a year and a half ago but then two back surgeries took over. Just now trying to get all better and will be back at the track soon. For now I've been just building the heck out of my B5M.

Have you tried the slicks? I've been curious about them and want to try but my track is a high bite indoor carpet track. Their outdoor dirt track is huge and but more for 1/8 scale. Sounds like a fun track and good racing where you are at. We're there just faster people in the main or did you mess up. Seems like every time I try to focus more and/or get a little nervous I start to mess up. It's all about getting comfortable racing and at the track you are at.

Do larger external capacitors make much of a difference in punch/acceleration?

I haven't ran them in a full heat yet, but when the track was a little dusty it was spin city. Also the weather has been cooler so that doesn't help but once the groove forms and the dust is gone I'll try em again. Right now a ghost slick works best.
