After replacing 2 gear sets in the last year in my Savox 1258 I put the SI-4431 one in my EB48 and have to say I am loving that one as well. More torque and more responsive.
Can't go wrong in my opinion. Also I will support the brands that support racing here in the Northwest. Xpert is sponsoring the NCT series out here!

for the impression I was able to get of the servo I had before selling the warranty replacement, the physical build quality looked good and off of the 6V battery pack did some testing with on it, it seemed to be quite powerful. It also had a very smooth feel to it. This was a WR7701 servo.
The only comment I would make and this would go for any electronics, if you notice anything odd happening with your system, stop and contact the manufacturer right away. Do not believe it is something "one off". This can be an expensive and time consuming lesson to learn.
Through it all Nick provided great customer service, a real bright spot.

Granted, the WR-6601 and WR-7701 are slower than the WR-4401. Not sure if it really mean that much for 1/8 scale buggies, if they are a fraction slower or not.
Not sure what I'll do with the Savöx SC-1258TG i'll be taking out of my DEX408 buggy, if I should sell it, or put it in one of my other models.
I'll probably put it into my Compagnucci 1/8 gasoline model. I won't hear the noise once that baby if fired up. Plus I have wanted to get a servo with decent torque and speed for that model for a good while now, so seems to be the perfect time change the excisting servo.

That WR-7701 has monster torque, plus it can handle up to 8.4V, so deffo NOT a bad piece of kit to have in any model. I just ordered a WR-6601 the other day and that as well can handle up to 8.4V, but I'll only put 7.4V into it, since that's the maximum voltage the onboard BEC output can be for a Tekin RX8 ESC as I'm sure tons of you guys know already.

But from what I have seen, others are having a blast with them and they look to be good. Just bad luck I guess. Just wish it wasn't $100 over the cost of the servo itself to find out.

one thing I would love to see in servos in general would be some form of a plug and play servo wire so you can lengthen and shorten with a quick swap.

They showed the RS series servos with that feature a while ago but I haven't heard anything about them recently.

But still very cool.

Wouldn't it be easier to just make the servo wires your self? You could cut the wire on the servo 2 inches from the servo and then put a plug on it and make what ever length servo extender you would require for the model in question. I make my own servo extenders and it's easy with the right tools.
Hansen Hobbies have all the things you would need to get started like wire, plugs, pins and tools such as wire cutters and the special pliers needed for crimping if you don't want to mess with a soldering iron.

Shown below: I Just installed an Xpert WR-6601 servo in my Durango DEX408 V1 buggy

Shown below: Making sure it get's a constant flow of maximum juice at 8.4V I also installed a Castle Creations 10Amp BEC.

Shown below: Though maybe difficult to see properly, are some of my own servo extension cables. Going into the RX the connectors to the external BEC, ESC and servo is sort of hovering above the servo it self. Maybe even harder to see, is the extender for the ESC you can see only the black and white cables is used as the red needs to be inactive for the external BEC to do it's job properly. So if you look closely at the first plug going into the RX you will see what looks like a hole where the red wire would go into the plug.

Shown below: Is the majority of tools I use to make my own servo extension cables.

I do believe i probably had a one off issue however, but what I wanted to use the servo for (winter snow running in a monster truck) had the time to use it pass. So I sold it to someone else who could use get more use out of it.
Maybe down the road I'll give it a look again as some of the other servos have specs I like, but I will make sure I only do that with an esc still under warranty.
