"I think the device I have the best chance of working with this is my Samsung Galaxy Tab Pro 12.2'' When I plug a flash drive into the OTG cable it brings the drive and it's contents right up.
My Droid Razr is on Tekins list as a known working device. When I plug the hot wire into that I have to plug the LiPo into the ESC and switch it on for the interface to get power. When I do this, I don't get the fast flashing green LED, I just get a solid green LED and it does nothing on the Razr. I'm thinking I might have gotten a bad v2 interface..." ---So far it doesn't seem like you are able to get the HotWire working anywhere, on any device- is that the case? I have a Razr and so does a friend, mine is powered by my phone but his must be powered by an RC battery. But in both cases it works. Therefore its a good bet that your HotWire device might be the problem. Can you connect it to a PC and test it there? A good test would be to dl the Windows HotWire from the Tekin website and install it, then see if the HotWire/ESC will connect. Hope this helps.... |
It works perfectly on the PC, It's just android devices that are the issue. When I connect to the PC I get a flickering green LED on the interface and it works. When I user my Razr I have to power up the ESC but get a soltd green LED and it does not work. Does your friend still get the flickering LED when going through his Razr with the ESC powered up?
I'm going to try to track down a known working interface to narrow down the issue. |

Even a vague timeline would be good...is it more like weeks, months or a year? |
We hope to have the BLE units out for some final testing with our team in the next month. Assuming all goes well with Apple store, BLE device approvals and CE testing we should be ready for public release shortly after that.

If you're interested in beta testers, with folks outside the team, I'm a willing volunteer with multiple Tekin ESC's in various vehicles. Send me a PM if this is doable, and I'll reply back with my contact info. :) |
I also have the Carry my LG android tablet but it is hit or miss using the Hotwire beta app. There's only one app for it and it says beta and everything is up to date but most of the time it lets me do all the adjustments but then when I hit apply at the bottom of the tablet it says unable to save settings and the esc doesn't have the adjustments.
Am I doing it wrong? Should I go to the tekin Hotwire website? Even tho when I tried that and downloaded it from there instead of the google play App Store it still has the same issue of not being able to save changes. And yea the green LED will go on like its suppose to be Help please! PS it works perfectly on my Windows 10 laptop. Is it possible to download the app to a flashdrive and put that in the USB port instead of ive always been just plugging a USB cable into the tablet with the Hotwire attached. |
The playstore app version should be fine. What you can do however is have esc's that aren't running the latest software in them which can cause erratic operation.
Which esc's are you using? |

You need to always run the latest esc software when using the app. Your Rx8 for example should be on 254. So go here: www.teamtekin.com/hotwire.html and download the latest hotwire software.

I don't understand why the 250 firmware works perfect everytime on my Windows 10 laptop but not on my LG android tablet |
?
Why is it I can't do all the adjustments with my up to date Tekin everything on my android tablet that I can do with my lap top what gives example can't adjust throttle profiles on tablet but can on laptop using all the same stuff only difference is the tablet or lap top
BIG TIME +1 on the iOS operations with my tekin's, hurry up pleaseeee lol |
I run Tekin in all of my cars, buggies, truggies, etc. I do not have a pc. I have apple computers, and an iPhone. At the track last week there were 17 racers all with Tekin esc and all with iPhones. Non of us could program our escs with our phones. I give up! What is a inexpensive alternative to a PC. Do they make a cheep tablet that is PC based that would work. I saw some Android tablets that had USB and wifi on them. Is there any of these that would your? I wish Tekin and Apple would have an app for the iPhone. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Thanks
