It's more than a cable issue currently. Apple will not and has not shown any indication of allowing host control of exterior devices directly via cable.

We are working on alternative at this time, all I can say.

A Mac version of the laptop software would be awesome!

Just picked up a used Samsung Tablet to use for this, and have already down loaded the app. Can't wait to be able to do my own changes at the track. Downside is I traded an RS Pro for it, that I am going to miss. Just ordered the USB adapter, super cheap.

My best guess would be a Bluetooth module.

I have an RS Gen1 connected to my LG Nexus 4 running Android 5.1.
I'm connected directly using a micro to mini USB cable to a Gen 2 Hotwire.
No lights at all. What am I missing?

If you have gen 1 hotwire, you need an OTG cable. Also most likely the lipo conneced as well.

It's a Gen 2 Hotwire. Thought I wouldn't need an
OTG.

You don't, have you tried it with the lipo plugged in and esc switched on?

No, I will try that next, seems odd to have to connect a battery though, that wasn't how the Gen 1 Hotwire functioned.

I assume it is because using a phone as the configuring device will not provide enough power to the Hotwire to work?

fq06 05-30-2015 11:12 AM

Correct, a lap top or desk top must put power out differently or tab/phones just don't have enough output.
Same thing gen 1 or 2 hotwire. Only difference gen1 to gen 2 is no otg cable needed for gen 2

I guess I can live with that, Thanks for the help!

Anyone using a Samsung Tab 4 tablet with this ? All it does is says hotwire not found . My friend used the same cable with his phone and it worked not sure what to do .

platgof 05-31-2015 06:08 PM

I am using that one and it took a while for it to take. It kept saying demo. Keep booting it up and see what happens. Mine is real finicky at times.

Looking at the note 3 specs, you're after a micro usb to mini usb cable.
