Take care Having been in this hobby for ohh 25 years it's funny how a radio of 3R caliber turns into a "radio for the kid" |

Spektrum aluminum case from my dx3r pro. Cut a notch for antennae is all that is needed. Perfect fit otherwise.

I was looking to buy this radio, but if doesn't work with ORX receiver's, that is a bummer. I need to fill several trucks and that would have been a lot more economical for me.

All four Binded perfectly:D. Strange thing I noticed and I don't want to take this thread off topic much. After looking closely I noticed the BTR for the steering is now STR and looks identical to my original Spektrum 3100. Edit: Just noticed that the clones don't have the TM beside the 2.4GHz GSM2 like the Spektrum does. Take care guys! Ron http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b2...psf6e4dcb2.jpg Two more clones from their bags that Binded great. http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b2...psf10cc09c.jpg |
I suppose that makes sense as those we knockoff/unauthorized clones of original specktrum branded rxs and not just dsm2 compatible like the orange receivers.
Will have to pick up a couple of those receivers. ;) |
Not straying to far. I just had one of those fail, the case was cracked and it wouldn't bind anymore but for the price I can get more.

I currently have KO EX-1 with an old spektrum module in it. All my receivers are DSM. occasionally, I will get a glitch and then it will work fine. This is maybe once a night.
So, I have been thinking of changing. I don't want to switch to a different manufacturer because I would need to get all new receivers in my vehicles (10). But, I would work on slowly changing the old DSM receivers to the newer technology. Therefore, I have been considering the DX3R Pro, DX4S, DX4R Pro. What is the difference between the 3, other than the price? I also connect my radio to a neck strap, to prevent breaking the radio if I drop it. My son also uses this radio to drive his short course truck and the strap helps me feel more secure that he won't drop it and break it. Do the Spektrum radios have a spot to clip a neck strap to? thanks. |

What is the black disc in the box? And is the battery tray removable?

I cut a little out of the foam on the JConcepts DX3R Pro case to fit the DX4R and it fits fine, it is a bit thin at the top where the DX4R antenna slides in but other than that it works great. If you have the ProTek or Spektrum case you should have no issues slotting the foam a little for the antenna to fit. |
