Default PSA: Fake Spektrum receivers in the market

Not sure if this is the right place to post or not but I wanted to make my fellow traders aware of some fake Spektrum receivers that are popping up everywhere. I had talked to a few guys and these are even making their way into legit channels. The most common one I have seen is the SR3100 and the easiest way to tell if it is a fake is to look closely at the the plug for the steering servo. One the real spekky it will say STR and on the fakes there is a typo that says BTR. These are different from the clones that are sold under the Orange brand as they are not trying to pass off as the "real" deal. From what I have seen these fake receivers work ok, but just make sure you know what you are buying. Like I said the worst part is even hobby shops are selling these now. Stay informed and save your money so you can buy more stuff from me

To answer a question I have gotten the SR3100 is the only surface receiver I know of that has an outright fake. All the other SR300, SR3000, SR3500, SR3300T, SR3520, etc. I am not aware of.

Knowing is half the battle!

Unless they are SR3100 you should be good. This is the only one I have seen faked. As a matter of fact I have not heard of any faked DSM1 receivers only DSM2

I haven't seen any individual here that I would say is knowingly selling them but you would be surprised at some of the BIG names online that are the sources.

Almost everything gets counterfeited. I didn't realize everything gets counterfeited, until I deployed to Afghanistan. Never thought I would see counterfeit Haynes Underwear & Socks. LOL!

Thank You for your Support! I wish they would stop counterfeiting stuff. China just pumps out the counterfeit stuff. Makes it hard to find good deals
