Steering tension spring broke on my dx4r pro today. Waiting to here back from lhs.
Not sure I want to tackle this repair. There is a lot of tiny parts in there and I'm not sure I could pull it off.
Will spektrum go good for this. It's only 7 months old.

Not sure if 4R is same as other Spektrum radios, but I know most of the guys who've broken springs on 3R's and 3S's have used springs from Traxxas radios as a replacement with good success. Never had one apart, but can't imagine it's to difficult.

I have an old Tq am radio laying around. Took the throttle spring out ( perfect match), and installed it in my 4R. The 4R is likely the easiest radio to fix this as the steering pod comes off seperately.
Thanks so much

I've had 4 different Spektrum radios (3E, 3C, 4S and now 4R) and I've never broken a spring, but guys at local tracks have had issues and some have swapped brands. Some have still broken the Traxxas spring, but only a couple. You can probably get the old tq's pretty cheap on flebay.

Has anyone noticed that the center line of the wheel, while using the drop down, is below the center line of the trigger?
Had difficulties with the controller using drop down, but thats something i got used to with my M11x, took the drop down off and BOOM, felt exactly like my M11x. However now the radio looks plain ugly
So if you have "problems" or feel uncomfortable with the DX4R Pro with the drop down, take it off and use it normal style.

It's actually very easy to replace. Other radios require you to take apart the the entire thing apart to reach the spring. The 4Rpro simply requires you to remove the 3 screws near the steering wheel and then 4 small screws to access the steering mechanism. It can be done fairly quick.

When are they going to figure this out? I've never had one Futaba, KO, or Sanwa radio break like this.

I bought a DX4r a couple of months ago to use with a 1/10 TC and a drifter. I am very impressed overall with the radio. I ended up removing the dropdown, which suits me. My son has a Sanwa MT4 and the dx4r appears to have the same/similar response speed and rock solid signal.

Can you program one of the switches on the DX4R Pro to increase the throttle endpoint? I race in a breakout class and I need the ability to increase my motor speed on the fly. I know some people the run Spektrum radios and do this by leaving the radio on the travel screen and adjust the wheel with their thumb, but that would be difficult for me to do.
