Tekin RSX Thread
#1381
I have ran into a problem with the Tekin RSX I have been using for about 10 months. During the first qualifier at a club race the throttle was intermittent in my Carisma 4XS, and when the throttle was working it seemed to have reduced power and delayed brakes. Midway through the next qualifier the car just stopped and LEDs 1,2,6 and 6 were flashing on the RSX. I have tried a different sensor cable, battery, motor, re-calibrating the ESC, performing a factory reset on the ESC, and I tried re-soldering all wires just in case there was a dry solder joint. Nothing has worked and I have steering but absolutely no throttle (so the receiver is getting power from the ESC). I was just wondering if anyone has had a similar problem and had managed to fix it?
Cheers,
Mark

Had a weird event at Beachline RC in FL. car had started to 'runaway' like back in the day when you got interference. I checked the car and when throttle was applied it ran at high speed (as if the min throttle was set to 45/50%) then as you applied more throttle it worked normally. Anyway, the A phase had started to move/become loose on the RSX (probably bad solder joint by me...) i resoldered but it ran the same. Reset the settings via Hotwire and it has been fine since - won the main :-)
So, i'm not sure how the settings got skewed, but if all else fails -reset!
@Randy, BTW what would be great with the Hotwire app would be able to store/load a profile on the phone/tablet and also a way to save or share a data run. I worked around it by screenshotting the data for review afterwards.
I was up to around 150 F according to Hotwire - could i have gone faster safely?

You should aim to keep the motor under 200 degrees Fahrenheit to prevent the rotor from demagnetizing. 150 and under is ideal, but if you are faster on the track when it's closer to 180, go for it. I aim for 150 or cooler so that if a bearing goes bad or a fan fails, there is more overhead before damage happens.

200 from either source: temp gun or the internal sensor. Go with whatever is hotter to be safe.

I have no issue with the ESC temp at all, it barely breaks a sweat (no fan).
Anyone else notice (from a data cleared ESC) that there may be more than one run shown? Just wondering why the ESC decides to initiate another data 'run' when i've just cleared the data and run only once.
