Hi I have just decided to start racing again after a 7 year break. Have bought an xray 1:10 xb4 for off-road and an 2015 spec xray 1:10 touring car. Will be running tekin 6.5 motor in off-road and 13.5 in touring. My question is I'm after two speedos and love the look of the rsx but being built for more modified racing will it suit the touring car with a 13.5 t motor??? Help please :-)

For your touring car you can use a Tekin rs gen2.

Ok thankyou. That was one of the other ones I was looking at. Things have changed so much in 7 years part of me was hoping to keep them the same lol to keep set up simple.

the RSX esc will suit you in any class you put it into. The only class it doesn't belong in is 1/8 and 4wd SC.

For 4wd mod buggy and 13.5 TC you'll be very happy with the RSX.

Unplug the fan if equipped, unplug the esc from the receiver, unplug the sensor harness from the esc. Power up the esc? Does it light up?

If not it needs service. Contact [email protected]
I contacted support for an RMA... also this weekend had my new Pro4HD motor in my 4x4 stop working... not a good week for me

Can I use the RSX without the fan on my b4.2? if it matters, I'm using 8.5t motor.

Yes, you don't have to run the fan if you don't need it.

I don't run one on my 4wd buggy most of the time.

How is the reliability of the tekin rsx? I had 2 rspros die pretty quickly on me, and my father and brother had problems with their original RS escs. I made the switch to speed passion for a bit, but thinking about giving tekin another shot as after almost two years my speed passion reventon pro died tonight. It just scares me to spend 220.00 on a esc and possibly have poor reliability like my last two tekins.

I run on road, but I have yet to see a RSX fail. For that matter same with the Gen2 hardware. I've been pretty impressed. Only G2 era ESC I've seen fail personally, was plugged in backwards.

Are you guys using higher gauge wire so it will fit into the post like on rx8's or just laying the wire on top of the post? Benefit of one vs the other. Going into a HB D413

I used the wire that came with it. Tinned the wire then smashed it flat with a pair of pliers while still warm. then stuck that into the groove on the posts of the esc. it doesn't all fit in there obviously some will be on top of the post still, but I think that will give you the best connection.

You can solder the wire on top, on the side, downwards, upwards, however it suits your car.

The slot is there to help hold solder and add more "edges" to make a stronger connection. Some wire can make it's way down there but it by no means is required.

Running RSX with Tekin 13.5 redline RPM in a Losi 22 2.0 MM 2wd buggy. Have been using hotwire to set it up but need some advice. What is the safe range for timing advance on this setup? I cant seem to find any complete speed control setups for 13.5 anywhere. Is there any benefit to mechanical advance over programmed or is it ultimately the same?
Currently running boost of 20 and turbo ramp 2 with no delay with curve 2. High traction clay, tight track. 27/78.
