I'm putting it directly on the chassis so there is no way to put a zip tie around it.

Then I would prep the surfaces REALLY good before you apply the tape or Velcro . Clean both the chassis and the bottom of the ESC with alcohol (denatured is best) or acetone (becareful some plastics dont like it) . I have some buddies that swear by that heavy duty Velcro ....

I have seen people use some really hard plastic Velcro from Walmart. I don't know if that works or not.

Thanks guys
I've had really good luck with MIP servo tape. Then when you need to take it off it comes off clean with no annoying residue.

I used to have an issue with my ESC coming loose after a while until I switched to the Parma Servo Tape, just made sure to clean bottom of ESC and the surface where I am going to install and haven't had a problem since. It's been at least a couple months since I switched. I do keep an eye on it and check it before I race everytime but so far so good.

I've used shoe goo for about 6 months now for my gen1, plastic fab'd up plate goo'd to the chassis and esc goo'd to the plate. Got tired of multiple brands of tape letting go after a while. This is on my Mugen SCT conversion so there is no ESC tray, had to make one.

No issues with the ESC, still going strong. I have heard people warn about this as it does not absorb shock as well as a servo tape but my ESC will not move unless I pry it off.
Maybe the two layers of goo is adding some shock absorbtion that's needed to not kill the ESC.

I have a question regarding warranty work on an ESC purchased from ebay. If I buy an ESC from a seller on ebay that lists it as new, how does Tekin handle the warranty? what do I need to provide for it to be covered?

I am not in this situation, but I am considering savings a few $ on an ebay deal for a "new" ESC.

So I went into the timing tab and the race spec box is not checked. Anybody know how the race spec mode could be on if the box isnt checked cause my other rspro says race spec lock off and all my settings are the same. Anybody have any ideas.
There are two modes for "blinky" or spec mode. There's regular spec mode and "Locked spec" in which the unit cannot have its timing profile altered without a Hotwire. This "locks" the timing profile up so the on board buttons cannot be used to change it.

Yes, but running 3 more laps after the car was allowed to rest for a moment can also allow the batteries to get back up to voltage.

The main ? would be how many mah did the batteries take after that run.

No, the board layout is different and thus the housing is different as well.

For mounting ESC it doesn't get much better than the Kyosho Zeal Gel. Sticks like crazy but when you need to take off just slide a flathead screwdriver under it to remove from chassis and just peel off ESC. It's $14 for a small sheet good for mounting 2-3 esc's

The esc must be new in package and sold by a dealer, not an individual.

+1 Zeal is good stuff. It's all you'll ever need and it provides excellent damping to your ESC or receivers. I won't use anything else.

Would I just send a screen print of the sale as a receipt? Is there a specific way to find out if a seller is distributor, or just use common sense?

For example, I assume one of these is a distributor & the other isn't.

Ok that makes sense so obviously locked spec mode would be done by checking the lock spec mode box, how do I turn off reg spec mode as I didnt know how I turned it on.
