I just picked up one of these 17.5 motors, paired with a Hobbywing v3 in a stock TC class. My local track is a medium sized, technical carpet track with low-medium traction.

I'm going to be comparing these motors to several others: Revtech with HT Rotor, Murfdogg 17.5, stock Revtech, and a D3.5 with HT Rotor.

Stay tuned! I'm excited about doing this!

Being a 540 can 4600kv 8.5t I figured it should absolutely wreck my 380 can 4300kv '9t'.. But it doesn't, not even close. The 380 4300kv is much, much faster. Quicker off the line, way more punch and a noticeably better top speed.

What gives?

Whilst the above rings true for bashing, I've found that these two motors I bought are fantastic for racing on my local track. Very very impressed.

Impressed with my 21.5 Trackstar. Cranked up the timing, running blinky, and its near as fast as my old fixed timing 17.5 Speed Passion motor. Only running about 10 degrees hotter but no big deal.

I have been running the 9.5 trackstar silver can motor and the trackstar turbo 80 amp speedo in my dex210 for a few weeks. It has been awesome. Just as fast as the guys with tekins and Orion's and castle systems. And when I tell my fellow racers on how much it cost they look at me in shock!! Hahaha

I have been running the 5.5, 6.5, 7.5 and the 8.5.
Burned two 6.5 in a DEX410, maybe because of undergearing and burned the 8.5 in a DEX210. I`m using the 7.5 in all of my cars now and its very impressive! Tried the 5.5 in my DEX210 on carpet and it was stupid fast. I think that will be my DEX410 motor when the outdoor season comes.

I've been using a 9.5 in my 22SCT. It's fast and has lots of torque. In fact, it's faster than my 22T with an Orion 8.5 in it. During the main last weekend I thought it was burning out because it got slower and was acting weird plus it really heated up. Turns out one of the ABC wires was knocked off so it was running on only 2 poles! Anyway, thinking it may have died from that I soldered up the wire and have run 3 full battery packs through it since (so maybe 45-60 minutes) and it's just as fast as ever. Loving this $30 motor!

I'm glad everyone is having the same great luck as me. These are by far my favorite budget motors. They keep proving themselves time and time again. Matter of fact I'm about to place another hobbyking order now lol.

Just ordered a 1900 and a 4.5 550 for outdoor in the SCTE. It will be sweet if they work well since I bought both for $40 less than 1 name brand would. I'll let u guys know how they work out for me.

I always use the cheapest shipping and it averages 6-10 business days to reach me most times.

Just purchased a 2100kv red can motor for my 1/8 buggy. Can't wait to give it a try and see how the $50 motor performs.

The 1900Kv version of that motor is a rocket in my eb48. Can't imagine what kind of power the 2100Kv will put out in an e-buggy.

nevermind. asked a local guy.

What esc would recommend running with the trackstar 1900kv? Maybe the HK 120a?
