There seem to be two main motor types called "Trackstar" for 1/10, one with a red/black can, another with a gray can. Has anyone tried both? Either one better than the other?

I got a chance to run my silver 7.5t trackstar motor in my SC10 for the first time this weekend. The motor performed great, very smooth in combination with a brushless hobbies lt4 120A esc. I would recommend this setup for anyone looking for great performance at a low price. It took about 3.5 weeks for the package to arrive from the global warehouse.

Currently running these motors and they work great!!

I bought a trackstar motor on jan 24 and it just got to my local post office today.. So I would say give it 3 weeks at least. I got the cheapest shipping though. I got the trackstar 1900kv 1/8 motor.. I might not be able to test it for a while but I'll post my thoughts about it when I finally do get to test it.

I have since purchased a 410 SCT. For the first few weeks, I ran it with a Pro4 4K. This past Tues nite I put the Turnigy 4.0 in it. I ran one practice battery and temp'd it around 110*. I ran another class this evening though and had no plans to run the 410 further. Lo n behold, a friend/shop employee shows up late, but wants to run it in the main. Sure, why not. We run 6 min quals and 8 min mains. It ran great for him and he finished 2nd. We pulled it off and didn't have a gun, but he was able to hold his fingers on the can for several seconds. This is on 13T pinion, stock spur which I believe is 44T. The one odd thing though, is a bit of an awkward smell coming from the can. But as long as she runs, I really liked how it felt above n beyond the Pro4, so it's stayin in there :) PS- I would be interested in any info/experience with the following ESC. Thx :) http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/s...s_Car_ESC.html |
Im converting a jammin x1 over to brushless (I have a revo mmm/cc2200 and a truggy I already converted using mmm/Tork2200). I am debating between the 2650 or 2300 trackstar and hobbyking 2100. I'll be running 4s batts and trying to keep this thing as asian as possible. Which motor would you choose for bashing? I want to dig ditches...

I ran a couple batts with this motor in my Tekno/AE RC8.2E, converted further to run 4w Mod SC indoors. As you can imagine, it is a heavy beast. It made very good power but I removed it as I felt things were a little too warm.

Thx :) http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/s...s_Car_ESC.html The following ESC is peaking my interests. Looks like a rebadged HobbyWing Xerun V2.1 ESC. Some are reporting it works with the HW LCD programming box and can be flashed with the HW firmware. If that is all correct then it would make one heck of a 4wd SC ESC for ~$38 shipped! http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/s...nsorless_.html |

Sold it to a guy that put it in a SCTE that is winning outdoors and podium finisher indoors. It just didn't have the torque for my heavy truck needed. |
On the ESC...I'm sold on my current products n not likely to try others. I was just looking to try and help a low buck friend get into e-cale bugs n save $ if reliable equipment is out there. Right now, I'm looking at
http://www.hobbypartz.com/07e-c-combo-m3a.html for a combo set up. The real issue we are battling though, is I'm in CT, he's in NC. Kinda difficult helpin a relative newb over the phone or through FB. LOL Sorry to derail this thread. PS- Did I tell ya, I really am liking my Turnigy 4.0 550 can in my 410.:sneaky: |

A lot of 1/8th scale e-buggies use 4mm mounting screws. |

I'm happy with my Trackstar 2650kV 6-pole motor and Trackstar 120A ESC. Running it in an OFNA NEXX8 with stock 13/46 gearing and 4S. Everything stays cool or gets only slightly warm.

Got my 10.5 last week. Out came the Reedy Sonic 13.5 and in went the 10.5. DEX210 really came alive, but also geared the car better too. It's a good motor for the money. The Reedy was happier in my CRC Xti 1/12th anyway. :p
Almost an exact copy externally to the Reedy motors. http://i570.photobucket.com/albums/s...ps5794a75f.jpg http://i570.photobucket.com/albums/s...ps4a0a8263.jpg http://i570.photobucket.com/albums/s...ps0f2aebd1.jpg Sean  |
