Turnigy Trackstar Motor Thread

These motors are proving to be great performers and I think it's time they get their own dedicated thread. Post up pics or videos and your feedback on any of the Trackstar motors.

Currently I'm running their sensored 1900kv and 2100kv motors in my buggies and truggies. I also am running a Trackstar 4.5t 550 can SCT motor with great results. These motors are the best bang for the buck in my opinion.

I ran a 6 pole unsensored 2650 in my Mugen on 3 cell... thing was a beast! Too much of everything. ha... It's now resting peacefully in my GT8 on road car.

Incredible motors for the money(52 bucks on HK). I'd buy three of them at once before I'd spend more money on anything else.

2350kv running waaay strong in 1/8 buggy on 4s (too strong!). Smooth, powerful, runs cool.

Ordering up the red can 1900kv as a more practical choice for the track.

Definitely worth the few weeks shipping time from HK. Sensored brushless 4 pole motor and a high quality 4500mAh 4s battery for around $100!

Running the 2270kv 540 sensored 17.5 in my xxxsct blinky. It's awesome, great speed and torque, comes off the track around 145deg. When peope find out I'm beating them with a motor that was $38 shipped, they're very surprised (pissed).

I'm running the 1900kV red can sensored motor in my MBX6-ECO on 4s. Excellent motor for the track, plenty of smooth power!

Just ordered a 2,200kv for my truggy...I will send an update once I run it.

Have tried the 5.5t, 7.5t and 8.5t. (silvercans)
Every motor has worked great and runs very cool 55-65c.
Currently running the 7.5 in a xb4 and t runs smooth and has plenty of power, runtime 20min+ with the turnigy 5600mha aspec
The 8.5 is in a dex 210 and that to works great too...
I use a hobbywing 120a esc in both cars....

Great motors for a very low price:nod:

They make descent products for a great price. Although the spec motors are a hit or miss, one of my tt 17.5's is a rocket ittl walk all over my tuned d3.5. The other not so much.

From what i've read the 1/10th motors are a direct copy of the reedy sonic just with cheaper internals to keep the price down. I run a Turnigy 8.5t in my sc10 and couldn't be happier, as good as anything i've seen. A couple buddys of mine are running Turnigy 17.5t's in their 2wd buggies and are very happy with them.

I forgot to add I've ran the 6.5t in a b44.1 and it was crazy fast. It ran cool and made great power. I was keeping up with all the expensive motors with ease.

I run the 6.5 in my caster S10b 4wd, a 4.0 SCT (Red Can) on my SC10 4x4, a 8.5 on my T4, a 7.5 in my B4.1 WC and a 1900kv in my Caster EX1.5. All are awesome and have had 0 problems with them, plus I have a 5.5, 10.5, 13.5 and 17.5 spares and ready for anything and did not break the bank. Very happy and will keep runing them

They're close. However the sensor and endbell design is different. I had one come w/ the sensor bad and I tried to use a Sonic sensor and timing cap and it didn't work.

Put a 2100 silver can in my LST2 brushless conv. Seems awesome so far. Had rear diff issues 10 minutes into the first run and the truck won't steer, So I really didn't check to see how hot the motor got running 4s. I might be able to run it tomorrow again.

I agree with all posts above - I've got a silver 10.5 in my blinky sc10 2wd SC and it's great for the price.

I'm swapping 1st place with a tekin powered car - same SC10 and we trade best laps and 1st position by .1's of a second. $35 motor vs $150.....

Only thing I find is that it's a little 'soft' - it doesn't have great feel down low. Plenty of power but not as much down low throttle feel as I would like
