Hi,

Have you guys tried the newer v2 red can 1/10 motors? Would you recommend them?

I have a couple of, now old, turnigy V1 17.5s and have had no issues with them.

Thank you

I have a V2 17.5 that comes with a 12.5 rotor and it's a great motor. Use it in a SC truck with great results.

I have had a V2 13.5, 10.5, and a 8.5 and all are awesome motors.

I've had a few V1's including the 17.5 and the new motors all run cooler and faster then the corresponding V1 versions that I have seen.

The V2's also respond to timing in my opinion much better then the V1's

Turnigy trackstar 1/8th 1900kv motor - strange readings on a motor analyser

rackstar 1/8th 1900kv - strange reading on a analyser
Hi,

I put the motor on a motor anaylzer (I was just curios to learn what numbers I would get). I got very odd readings -

1 - the analyser said it was a 2 pole motor
2 - Kv readings was around 3900kb
3 - timing was around 22 but i couldn't get accurate/consistent reading.

When turning the rotor, it didn’t feel strong compared to my 1/10 13.5t stock motor.

So has anyone out it on the analyser ?

I have not connected it up yet, I will be ordering my Tekno eb48.4 in 2 days.

So what is the general feedback on this motor ?

Chiming in on an old thread, but thought I'd share some feedback. I recently dumped a bunch of cash on a new 4wd buggy, and decided to be frugal on the motor and got a Trackstar V2 13.5. I had been running a V1 17.5 in my 2WD buggy for a while and was happy with it, but being that I still run a rear motor buggy, the can had some pretty good dings in it. So I replaced that one with a Fantom V2T. Anyway, folks in the pits could see what motor I was running in my 2WD pretty easily cuz it's just hanging out there for everyone to see. After a recent race in 4WD where I had some good battles, someone made the comment "well, your car's making the big horsepower running the Fantom motors". I had to mention that the Fantom is only in my 2WD, and in my 4WD I was running a Trackstar. I immediately got a few looks like "did he just say Trackstar"? The guy I was battling with laughed and said that he needs to run out a get a Trackstar too. He's currently running a Team Powers Actinium V2.

So yeah, as you hear time and again, best bang for your buck out there. The V2 cans offer plenty of ventilation. Running a FDR in my wheeler around 6.8, with about 48 degrees of timing; I never got above 137F after a 5-minute main. And it definitely makes enough power to keep up. May not be the fastest thing out there, but it also doesn't cost 150 bucks.
