I am interested in giving your 100S line a try. Currently I run the JR 9100S servo, it is significantly faster but trying servos in the .15 sec range, they still work as I would like speed wise.
My question is this, Has there been any consideration on increasing the warranty period to match the current industry leaders of 3 years? Curious, if you remove any linkage to the servo, other than say leaving the horn on to view the issue twitching issue easier, does it occur ? |
cool.
Right now, another one is the 130T that has my attention as well. |

Servo still works great running on track but its a little unnerving to see the wheels shake back and forth while your car waits for a marshal or while its sitting on your work stand as you try to put on your body. |

http://www.amainhobbies.com/product_...tal-Gear-Servo it has a really nice specs, and a nice price, but the shaking thing is kinda worrying me. |

These servos have been on back order for months so hopefully they're sorting out the problems

PTK-100T
PTK-100S Those are the speed and torque servos and was wondering if anyone knows the company that manufactures their servos. Sorry, but the 150 servo I bought to try a while back has killed itself as a steering servo in 1/8 buggy, same chatter as others have reported initially, and has somehow seized up/refused working all together. Its now a paperweight. Not trying to hang anything on protek (a-main), they do offer nice goods, but they really need to look into this issue. Just voicing my personal experience with the one servo I bought. |

The ProTek servos have been tested in every imaginable way, and then tested again. We had a year of real world on track data and testing before a single servo was put up for sale.
We had clear goals in mind for the ProTek servo project. 1. Make the best servos available. 2. Test, test, test until every single team driver was 100% happy with each servos performance. 3. Assure durability for a minimum of 1 year. We had 0 failures during this testing period! 4. The ability to offer the entire servo line at unmatched pricing. We achieved all of our goals and are extremely proud of the project. We stand behind anything we sell and we hope you all enjoy them. If you have any questions about any ProTek products my information is in my signature. |
Figured since Amain has a special I ordered the 350T and 330T to try out in a MBX6TR, time will tell how they hold up.

I have been running the 230T for a month now with no issues. This is by far the best servo I have used in my opinion however I have never spent more than 150 on a servo so I guess I could be missing something.
For the price this one blows everything else away! It is super quiet and extremely fast. The toque is insane. I have not bashed it much so no true torture test to speak of... YET. I wonder if it is just the 100 series that is giving problems. Unless I missed something I have not seen anyone having problems with the 200 and 300 series. Anyone else using the larger servos? |
I got some time in on my 330T and 350T now and am very pleased. Torque, speed and centering was all there. These ran super quite, more quite then when I ran the 7955 hitecs. I went to Savox after hitecs for there HV servos proved more useful.
Ill give these Proteks a bit more time before its final, but general conclusion is I found my new servo brand. |
Every servo company has problems at some point it's how they deal with the problems and their customers as to how a company should be based on. If the company admits to the problem and continues to try and fix it and either fixes the product or replaces with an updated version or a better version that doesn't present the same problems that to me is a company to go with and stay with. I've run a Hitec 5955 for a long time now and no problems but have had several other Hitec servos blow. I've also had Turnigy servos in my D8 since 2010 with no problems at all and I crash a lot(not something I'm real proud of but true)

Marty.....what is the MINIMUM torque rating you would suggest for an 1/8th e-scale buggy? 250??? Also looking for somewhere around .10-.12 transit time. With that being said, which Protek servo would you recommend? Thanks.

My 130 started shaking one day. Then 2 weekends ago I took it to a race and after 2 qualifying heats the shakes went away and have not come back. it was weird.
anyone else have this experience? |
