Recently, I've noticed a slight amount of 'backlash' in the gear mesh on my 100T servo in my Pro2 SCT. With or without power, at neutral, you can wiggle the horn and primary gear about an 1/8", at the end/outside of the servo horn. No 'shakes' as of yet, and it still performs fine, it's just that I've noticed a slight left to right movement, while tearing down the straightaway.. And upon further inspection, the above is what I've come to as a preliminary conclusion.

All servos will develop a bit of play in the gear sets as they break in a bit. But if you feel it is an unusual amount or if it is negatively affecting performance please let us know so we can get it fixed or replaced for you.

I assure all of our customers that we are working extremely hard on our servo line. We have had some issues with some servos and they are being addressed. We will not rest until we provide our customers with the best servo money can buy at affordable prices. Our servos are already pumping out insane numbers, now we just need to weed out the few that have had problems and make it up to our customers.

I will replace my servos with these as needed. I respect the support and customer service of amain! I talked to a rep a few months ago and he assured me that their servos would be top notch. I went a different route for the one I needed to replace for lack of input from the "field". Now, I see that amain is doing everything possible to make these a great experience for the consumer. Look forward to getting my first one, although, it might be a while as savox are pretty good also.....

Would the 150T be a good choice to run from the BEC of a Viper VTX8 in an Ebuggy?

130T servo shudder

I have what I think is a similar issue with the servo appearing to have trouble finding center.

However, this is only with NO LOAD.

When I have the chassis supported with no load, the servo shudders pretty badly. As soon as I let the front wheels simply touch the surface it stops immediately, and appears to be just fine. So far, while driving normally, it also appears to function properly.

Is this more than a cosmetic issue? I would think the shuddering could prematurely wear the servo, but looking to get others thoughts. Nice servo other than that. To be clear, as soon as I apply load to the servo and turn left or right, it seems just fine at getting back to center. The shakes under no load is pretty bad though, more than just a bit.

If it truly doesn't effect the life or performance of the servo, I can look the other way until I set the car on the track.

What model do you have?

The reason is interference. When you set your car to ground. It goes away. I had the same issue. Once I change receiver. Problem dissappear. You might want to look at your receiver placement or anything which might cause interference.

Shaking could most definitely be caused by radio interference. Usually caused by nitro engine vibration but it can also happen in electric vehicles if the receiver has taken some hard hits.

Swapped out the receiver and transmitter, This is not a case of radio interference.

In my experience, the "shutters" are caused from a Blown brass Bushing in the top case or a Blown Gear train.

Protek Shakes 150t

Hey! I recently got two new Protek HV servos 150s and 150t about a month ago and the 150t has started shaking really bad and even while turning with no load. I had a set of Savox 6.0v 1256/1258 for 2 years and no issues at all just wanted to start using lipo receiver packs so I got these Proteks. Anyway I sent a email to Amain about the shakes and they want me to send it in but I have no HV backup servos and a bunch of important races coming up. I wonder since I have spent thousands in the last two years and NEVER once complained or ask for a replacement even when something gave me a problem if they would send me a replacement servo first then I send this one in. How long does it usually take to get a servo back after RMA from Amain? This sucks right in the middle of racing series here in my local area! Mine shakes bad even off jumps and while pitting also seems to have a spot where it sticks when turning by hand slowly when power is off.

Phone em up and tell them to temporarily your CC with the price of a new servo and Refund the $$ when they receive your Busted servo.

Tekin among other companies have been known to do this when they have a customer in a bind.

A-main should do this for Any customer in your situation.

Waiting for RMA stuff especially when/If your in a different country can be a little tiring.

Well I tried to get them to send me a servo before they look at this one and they would have done but not in stock so I have a back order. The returns tech I spoke with was pretty decent about it but I still feel since my first order 2011 and $4,000+ I have never once had a RMA or complaint nada they could sent me something similar. I got lucky and got a new Savox 1268 HV servo for $75.00 because I didn't want to put one my 6v servo back in and change back to Life pack. Anyway I am considering buying a 1267 HV Savox and just stick with what worked for me for 2yrs. Savox but the Proteks look great and performance stats are awesome but I am very OCD about my gear I travel and spend good money to race so that's not how I want to lose. I also understand that new products are always subject to issues and not saying they wont fix them either so hopefully it will work itself out SOON.

The 10 year old JR in my sedan does that. I'll show ya on Thursday. It happens when the natural frequency of the steering system matches (or is close) to the feedback rate of the servo. Can also be an overly aggressive feedback algorithm causing "overshoot".

I generally touch the tires to stop it if it happens. You can also use thicker grease in the gears to help damp it out.

I have the vibration on me mbx6e and eb48 with the 150s. I always assumed it was due to the servo saver. The speed and torque causes the spring to twist past center and bounce back. Each time the servo recenters and it springs past center in the other direction. Tightening the saver should clear it up. Maybe not the cause in all situations but worth checking if it bothers you.

If ANY of you have any issues with your ProTek servos contact our customer service department for repair or replacement. We will not rest until each and
every one of you are satisfied with our product.

I am interested in giving your 100S line a try. Currently I run the JR 9100S servo, it is significantly faster but trying servos in the .15 sec range, they still work as I would like speed wise.

My question is this, Has there been any consideration on increasing the warranty period to match the current industry leaders of 3 years?

Curious, if you remove any linkage to the servo, other than say leaving the horn on to view the issue twitching issue easier, does it occur ?
