Awesome work Paypalneg! I've been working on an alternate input amplifier for my decoder, to be used with a loop that has a 470R resistor. More news in the decoder thread if I have success (it is very nearly done).

and two amplifiers with filters in decoder. This box is compatable with amb decoder

What sort of signal level do you get from yours? And how do you amplify it afterward? I am simply using opamps and a comparator now to turn the signal back into a digital pulse train.
My first attempt was a custom winding on a binocular core, this worked OK but wasn't amazing:

The newest one works much better and uses a Mini-Circuits transformer as a balun:

Unfortunately with a 470R resistor in the loop the second one is targeted at a 52R impedance system (the balun is 1:9) but that doesn't matter as I'm not attempting compatibility with AMB.

The transponder is compatible with AMB, just like the MRT transponders.
The decoder, should I complete it, would also be compatible with MRT and AMB transponders (the ones currently used, not the new AMBs that are causing the ruckus.) One difference is that the decoder would show different numbers than are printed on the AMB transponders, since I don't know the data encryption format. But that is of no significance to the user, as each would still show a unique number that can be associated to a individual car/driver.

This is exactly what is needed a decoder compatible with AMB & MRT transponders.
If a less expensive decoder was available and with compatible transponders then that would make switch over easier for track owners.
So you say to have tested with amb then you mean rc2 & rc3 not the new my lalps rc4?
