Im looking to buy some new lipos, last weekend at my local track I ran a 6500 60c smc back to back with a 5600 50c nanotech, I dont know but the nanotech had more punch ! What is it about nanotechs that everyone doesnt like or smc that everyone does like ? Besides customer service !

The nano tech prob felt more "punchier" cause it's lighter. Try comparing two packs of equal or similar weight.

Like SMCs FB to read Danny's post about the lipo industry. He sales a very good product at an affordable price. SMCs packs won't lose there punch after a few months like other brands..

Good point ! Nanotech is said to weigh 294gr as Smc is 305gr. May just wait and try a race spec when they become available !

I've never used the spec packs; i've only owned the racing formula but i would be surprised if there was a HUGE, noticeable between the two in a real world test.

Right on, i edited my post cause I figured it would come down to the weight difference as said earlier, so many lipos to chose from and very little comparisons found in my searching. Thanks for responding !

For those waiting on the 100c shorty packs Danny told me earlier today they did get enough to fill all the pre orders, what ever is left will be put up for sale on the site. He did say some pre orders may not go out until tomorrow, they are checking them out and shipping them out as fast as they can, he did tell me it is taking longer than usual because one of his employees is not currently working as he broke his wrist over the Thanksgiving holiday.
With that being said if you want a shorty I would highly suggest placing an order.

As for the nanotech debate, Alot of people dislike them because they are very inconsistant from one batch to the next, I have friends that used to swear by them, right up until they ordered more of the same pack and those ones were duds, sometimes in the same order they would get 1 very good one and 1 not so good one. With SMC consistancy and reliablility it what Danny wants. If when his order comes in and it doesn't meet his specs he does 1 of 2 things. He either sends them back or if it is a small issue he will sell them at a reduced price while fully disclosing what exactly doesn't meet spec on the packs. As an example, about 2 years ago he introduced the 4600 2s shorty pack, he got one shipment in that when he checked them out they only came in at 42-4300. he put that in big bold letters and blew them out for $25 a pack.......That is why he has such a following, he will not sell anything he would not run himself. And he won't sell junk just to make a buck.

I like his honesty, that alone is enough to get me to buy from Smc ! With the amount of people running his brand and continue being loyal customers says alot as well .

No joke! Danny sells only what makes the cut and has VERY high standards. If you get a pack rest assured it has been tested thuroughly and will beat just about any pack out there, these 100C shorties will be phenomenal!

I have about 8 nanotech and each and everyone one of them has some slight puff to them. Some more than others, but they are all puffed. I think the straw that broke the camels back for me and the nanotechs was the last two shorty packs I bought. Both of them have issues. I can't push the plugs all the way into the tubes or my charger thinks one of the cells are dead. If I pull the plug slightly out of the tube it reads it fine. And that was on TWO packs. Bought at the same time. On two different chargers.....

I'm just over it. I don't abuse my packs. I race 2wd and 4wd 10th scale mod buggies. So it's not like I am putting a ton of strain on my packs. I think I touch full throttle maybe once per lap on the straight and thats about it. Most of the time Im at half to 3/4 throttle. I make a conscious effort to balance and then storage charge my packs after every race night. They are never balance charged for more than 1 day.

Ordered two SMC packs to try out and aside from the super tight tubes, they seem to be pretty good.. Just ran them for the first time last night, so some more testing is in order. Given these are only a few bucks more than the Nano's, I have zero issue with giving SMC my money. Thus far anyways.
