you're sort of correct. yes they did sell them and they are still on the SMC website - http://www.smc-racing.net/index.php?...product_id=202

but coast2coast don't sell them anymore by the looks of it.

no sign of 4400 packs that I have seen

**edit** I was talking 4s packs. 2s shorties are 4400mah

Hi Hacker, the lower comes simply from a different rating and different factory, we moved away from the factory making the 4600/70 and now use the 4400/60, all my drivers tell me the 4400 performs better for stock and is awesome in mod.

On the 4s the 4600 was the old pack aswell from the old factory, possible Danny still has some of these in the states but we don't here in Oz.

Cheers Justin

The 4600 were having some serious ir issues so he stopped getting them and started getting the 4400 from a different factory.......No worries though both of my 4400 take just over 4500mah when i check them out. They are very good packs.

Thumbs up possibility of refurbishing?

Hey guys, WINGMAN or danny this is directed at you guys. i purchased several SMC packs over 2 years ago ( which i still race with today btw ) and i was wondering if other then visually, there was any point to sending them pack to be "freshend up"? I dont suspect there to be, but i hate making assumptions.

id also like to go on record again as saying that all of the equipment i have purchased from you, or even purchased used has been nothing short of perfect. I have 2 10.5 motors ( the original ones ). i over heated one to 200* and had the distinctive smell of electric motor death( i actually emailed Danny to see if there were any parts left for the old V1s or if i had a nice paper weight lol ). yet to my amazement after it cooled off it runs as if nothing ever happen. I have 1 5000/50 C, 2 6500/70 C and a 7200 70C ( all of them are 2 years old ). Only the 7200 is puffed ( 4wd SCT ) and it still runs like a champ. I routinely let folks use them and they will still comment on the power the packs have. I am using a 1900KV 8th scale motor in my kyosho mp9e and its a beast! The FDJ tire sauce is probably the best combo pack of tire sauce i know of. i use it religiously!! Hell i even have a servo horn from Danny and for the money you cant beat it!! I would have to spend 15-20$ to get the quality out of a servo horn from someone else. Its the same comment over and over. For the money you cant beat it. You can best bet As soon as i can sell a few items you folks can be expecting an order from me for some ESC's and a program box to use in my fleet. side note : any plans on an 8th scale ESC??

Personally i would like to say thank you to all the folks at SMC i cant thank you all enough for consistently making products that embody what racing is about. They arnt flashy, they dont waste money on flashly logos or boxes. They offer products that simply put, do their job. and do it VERY well without killing your wallet ( who doesnt like money?? )

im sure i may sound like a fanboy to most, and that is perfectly ok. I will say this, i have tried almost every brand of ESC and motor out and i can say without equivocation i know of none that are better than SMCs. No matter the price range. Give one a shot and see for yourself.

charged four 6500 mah 50C packs last night.

-all packs were at 7.6 volts (3.8v/cell)

-charge rate at 6.0 amps

-charge time for three packs was around 70 minutes

-charge time for the last pack was 160 min.

I will continue to monitor but just wanted to mention that the charger is a constant, the batteries are the variable here.

I know this is not a battery question but it is an SMC question, I was wanting to order the 120 ESC / motor combo and it says pre order does that mean they are back ordered , if so how long does it usually take to get what you already ordered and paid for from them, I have ordered batteries in the past but were always in stock, but I am impatient and would like to get it ASAP

To bad they don't do a better job of keeping stuff in stock, I bet they lose a lot of sales because they don't keep more in stock, Most people do not want to wait and if they do choose to wait some sort of a time frame would be nice. If I choose to order the combo I want who knows when I get it and I want to order another battery as well. but battery will not ship till all back order items are in stock. and if I order motor and battery now and wait on ESC it will cost me 2x's shipping plus is 20$ more expensive. However I can order a comparable system that is in stock and have it in a few days, for less than 20$ more, over ordering it separate. Guess it all depends on how impatient I am..........LOL

Yea I know and if they would give a timeline or any info at all other than "we don't have any info from our supplier, am hoping to hear something by end of week" It's just our first race is in the first of October which leaves a little over 6 weeks to get everything and depending on where I would be in the order que. it could take that long or more to get one, if it weren't for that I would prolly wait and not be so impatient.
