Is this due to the ROAR list not being up to date...or are the batteries not actually approved? What type of proof would I need to supply the tech inspectors/race director that the batteries are actually approved?

2S Brick SMC Factory Spec 6500 70C 6570-2S2P
2S Brick SMC Factory Spec 7200 70C 7270-2S2P

These are the only 2S Lipo's on the current ROAR list. They don't seem to be available on the SMC website.

Just heard from Danny, The saddle packs just went out of stock, He said he will be in contact with the factory this week to get an ETA on the saddle packs. I will let you know when he lets me know what he finds out.
As stated several times, square packs should be available to SMC by the end of February.

Tajar66, I would use the contact us function on the website and ask them exactly which ones have been ROAR approved. Just because they are not on Roars list doesn't mean they are not approved.

I recently purchased but have not received them yet 2 smc shortly 50c batteries from a fellow. These are new batteries but the date on the box reads 12/30/12. Are these batteries going to be ok?

Yeah I guess he got them in a trade. They look to be unused and have no reason to doubt him.....at the moment. I'm just not sure how long new batteries can sit. I read somewhere they ve some kind of chemical in them that helps store new lipos longer that fades when used for the first time?

Ordered two 7.2Ah packs to go along with my two 5Ah packs. Doing great in my Summit and SCX10 being submerged and abused. These will be taken care of for my SCT410. Went with the hardwire Deans because I have a habit of plugging the leads in backwards right before the main. :/

For the future, in a layout like the sct410 where the ESC is to the side of the lipo you can make the wires length from the ESC to where the negative(?) bullet can not possibly be plugged into the positive port.

That works until I forget to charge my battery and borrow one. Just so happens the polarity is switched. Now I have a minimum of two packs for each car just in case I forget to throw one on the charger.

Yeah, I've heard of that... gensace or some other off brand is opposite. I've never seen one and every pack I've had is the same layout.

That would suck though to borrow a pack and puff a ESC
