If you don't hear from Danny soon on the other thread you may want to e-mail him directly with those pics. You can do that by going to his website and going to contact us, it goes directly to Danny.

It wasn't the bullets problem. And bullet packs are great if you use good solid connectors not the bird cage type.

..
Lipos are so volatile its amazing that they are as user friendly as they are. Most of us have seen some fireworks
I run a SCTE 4x4 with 3 batteries 2 that I paid over 100 each and one SMC that cost me 45 dollars. The others are 6000 65c and the SMC is 6500 60c,
In a five minute main there is no real difference..Great batteries...

Yeah, the price/performance of these packs is amazing. $100 reedy, $65 SMC, same or better performance from SMC.
For how long thins thread has been around, the fail count is very low. You don't hear about reedy, orion and whoever expensive packs because there is not an open forum for them. I would guess there are just as many issues with the other high $$$ packs, as you said, lipo's are a volatile piece of energy and its amazing that there are not more fires, failures, meltdowns... explosions

Haven't seen anything very spectacular in a car but I've seen a friend catch a couple planes on fire in a very spectacular way

Oh don't get me wrong guys I love smc packs I have 8 and all have been great this is my first little hiccup with them and I'm not upset but would like Danny to be aware so he can keep an eye out for this sort of thing. I'm not looking to get a free replacement or a discount. I will order up a couple more here pretty soon

Any word on date of race (70c) shorty packs? Would like to order two, but if pre-ordering means waiting weeks, I'll look for another brand. Been wanting to try SMCs.

Don't think anyone thought you were putting them down.
But the one I remembered, Danny appreciated the feed back and the pack to inspect because I think the factory didn't use tabs to his spec so he got them back on track making packs how he wanted.

For sure email Danny on his smc site, he will want to know and inspect.

I'm in the same boat. Any word on when the 5600 70C saddle packs will be in stock?

How long are you running the 5600 and what voltage does in come off the track at?
A 4x SCT puts a lot of stress on a 2s pack and if you run it down to a low lvc you will probably see puffing.
I run the race formula 7200 with a 6.9v lvc. I get about 12 min on practice days. I could get more time with a lower lvc but it's not worth the strain on the pack.
