Need some help. I held the brake on the transmitter for a couple minutes and the ESC shut off and wont turn back on. Anybody ever have this happen? Is there a remedy?

Thanks!

Odd. Never heard of LRP doing this but it could be some form of protection feature. I found out the hard way (on the grid) that Hobbywing ESCs do this!

I would try reset to default.

1. Turn on the Tx
2. Plug in battery (assuming you have switch still)
3. Hold set button down
4. Turn on ESC

It should restart but will be back to default (grey on setup sheet) values.

Iīm running a Comet HD/Flow Works in my 12 Scale on 1s without a booster. It works great with the 1.4 Firmware. Did the update on the 5.4 Firmware and with it, the motor doesnīt turn, Servo works.
Went back to the 1.4 Firmware and everything is fine again.
Anyone had similar Problems?
Thanks!

Did you reset the esc by pressing down the set button, switch power on while holding down set button for a few seconds?
A reset is needed after every firmware update.

And after that, did you calibrate the esc?

M.Boos 10-09-2015 12:59 AM

Yes, I did push the set button and calibrate the esc after i installed the new firmware.
Donīt think that i made a mistake here...cause after installing 5.4 and going back to 1.4 the esc works like it should.
I asume you reset the esc before installing the new firmware?

Have you tried using v4.7 instead of v5.4? I haven't actually used v5.4 for 1/12 1s - I have been running v4.7 ever since it was released.

I will give it a shot this weekend to see if I see a similar issue.

No,havenīt tried v4.7. Iīm running 10.5 blinky in 1/12 so I thought I try the 5.4 Firmware.
Whatīs the best Firmware for 1/12 racing, 10.5 blinky?
Iīm new to 12 scale racing...
Thanks!

I would try to make sure you reset correctly. I'm not saying you did not, but resetting is the most important thing AFTER updating. So after an update reset your esc. I even do it 3 times, just to be sure...

Hold set button, switch on esc while still pressing the set button and hold 2 seconds. Release set button and switch off esc. Do this 3 times, just to be sure. After that procedure, switch on esc and calibrate esc.

Could be that 1.4 has best low voltage characteristic for 1s operation
It's all I run in 1s as well

I have used both v1.4 as well as v4.7 and both have worked really well, although I have only used v4.7 for the past year or so.

Mine work on this.

I have the same kind of issue. The uploader software crash after I click on OK on the popup windows which come after clicking on the connect button to establish the connection to the ESC Flow.

I'm running Windows 10 Home 64 bits, Java 8 update 60, LRP USB bridge spec 2.

The Uploader software has been installed as an administrator with different compatibility mode (Windows 7, XP)

The USB driver seems to be correctly installed because on the bridge I have a solid blue LED.

I followed this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nnR9BhJdlSI

Anyone has an idea?

Just picked up the LRP Flow Competition, I runs stock. But I was wanting to run the fan on top just to help keep things cool for the esc. Any link as to which fan to pick up for this ESC? Any help on this is highly appreciated. Thank you.

Improved cooling = higher performance! With the cooling fan for the iX8 and Flow, you get the maximum out of your speed control.

Just a little update to my problem. It turns out that the issue was a faulty servo plug and not the ESC at all. I jiggled the plug and it worked intermittently. Then, I replaced the servo and the problem went away. Flow seems to work well on the bench. Can't wait to get it out on the track this weekend. Thanks for the help everyone.

I've just updated from 1.4 to 5.4 and it updated fine. did the reset and everything works as it should. The problem is when i reconnect it back to my pc, the software has an error message saying that it cannot communicate with the esc anymore.
I've rebooted, reinstalled, ran as admin, etc. Even tried it on another pc, different sensor cable.
has anyone experienced the same issue and was able to sort it out?
Thanks!
