I'm asking because I'm getting a spektrum but the receiver is too big to mount into my Tamiya F201 - so I would need to run a standard receiver in that car....
Help??

They were both with novak cyclone speedos.

there are some esc's that deliver more power to these. i am not an expert on this but understand that some deliver 6volts down to something like 5.6volts. the problem spektrums have had are power related - as the tranceiver uses slightly more power than the current standard receivers. this is why wiring a capacitor up plugged into the BATT or AUX slot helps.

i used mine first with the VFS-1 in a 4-cell 1/12th scale, and it was fine... works also with the GTX i have in the car at the moment...
also confirmed to work well with a Novak Spy... i got a spare rec and installed it in my Xray micro last weekend, also worked fine.

Try the cap before dithcing the servo.......

seem to not supply enough power cos Im also having problems
with my transponder skipping as well....... especially when running mod
rocketron,
How exactly do you hook it up? Can you draw me a diagram? thanks
As for my servos, thsy are both 2343, one was brand new.......

Get a 450 micro-farad electrolytic capacitor (you can get them from Radio Shack. . .easy)
It will have the positive pole marked - just take an old connector and solder that to the positive wire and the negative to the black. Black should be the OUTSIDE pin and the positive should be the middle (I believe. . .double check. . .) but it's exactly the same as when plugging in a BEC or even your personal transponder - that only taps power and your supplying power. . .

Guys,
I ran the Spektrum the whole week of the Carpet Nationals and it worked perfrectly with my LRP Q2. I started without the power capacitor and then eventually put it in. However I did not notice any difference once installing the capictor. I installed simply because John Adams(spektrum rep) told me to do so.

What are the spec of the cap you are using?
