ok little help:
i run 4 cell 19 turn oval keyence rapida pro car and radio worked awesome all day and night...until the main tq'd with new system as well horn sounds i take off running good..about 2 minutes into run car turns hard left like full lock and shuts down??? marshall turns car off...i get car back after race and turn everything back on again...works fine??? i'm going to cycle the pack and i guess from now on it's a receiver pack for me? or is there a capacitor you can use instead? any help would be cool..thanks  |
Hm, no idea on that one, though I'd think a receiver pack could help prevent something lke that(but I'm only guessing). And as for my first race night with the Spektrum, I gotta say it worked flawlessly for me all night, didn't have a single glitch, hiccup, lag, slowdown, or even any trouble with the trims on mine, it just did EXACTLY what they said it would(& btw, my electronics for this one is a KO original Mars transmitter, Novak GT7 ESC & an analog JR servo, running in 19 turn class).....:D

Just used my M8/Spektrum system for an indoor/carpet race. Worked perfectly...no glitches whatsoever. Used it with a Novak Cyclone TC2 ESC and Airtronics 94357 servo.

one of our better TC drivers got his Spectrum sys and sold it the following week. i asked him why about it at todays race. he said in mod TC he noticed a lag in throt response. he had others try it and they noticed it to. he went back to regular FM stuff....lag is gone.
he uses a M8. i have plans on getting a KO Helios and was considering this system, but now have doubts |

Hello EJ Evans,
Thanks for the pic on the 3PK. Two remarks keep coming to mind: 1. what will they do with the slide cover ? 2. what really would be nice is if Spektrum would include something to plug that hole left by the dissapearing original antenna. Now that would be good marketing. A fluo yellow plastic plug would do the trick. Ciao, Spiller |
JR R1 System
I checked with my local LHS about 2 weeks ago at the 10th Anniversary Tamiya Race (Trackside in Wisconsin) to see if they had any Spektrum units for the JR R-1 and they said that they had not yet been released. I also called another LHS yesterday and they said they only had the M8 ones. Does anybody know when the JR R1 Spektrum units are coming out?
I can't wait to get one. Are the KO Helios units out yet? Khal |
The Helios units have been out for a couple of weeks now

I thought about using a little toy finger puppet to cover up the empty antenna hole.. hehe... Just gotta find a cartoon character that I like... :D

I am thinking about this system with the Helios in my electric and nitro touring cars and 1.8th onroad. Anyone try it with the radio yet?

Has anyone tried an unregulated Li-Po rx pack yet?
I spotted this in the FAQ section at spektrumrc.com. What receiver battery voltage can I use? 3.2 to 9.6volts. |
Just seconds after posting that, I read this...
Can I use 7.4-volt Li-Po batteries with the transceiver? Will it regulate the voltage to roughly 6 volts to the servos? It states the operating voltage is up to 9 volts. The receiver will easily handle a 2-cell Li-Po pack. The voltage to the servos is non-regulated and some servos won't handle this higher voltage. |
