Yep tried both ways. Light on module blinks once and then goes solid. But the light on the rx keeps blinking. No connection established. No matter how long I hold the button down on the module.

Guess it is probably defective?

Later, :)

I need tech advice for my Spektrum. I have the SR3000 mounted in my 1/12 scale. I use the add-on Spektrum capacitor with the RX antenna at 4.5 inches and properly routed below the board. I also use a Helios. Here is the problem... My system glitches when a certain other racer is running in the same race or qualifier with me. My car does not shut down but steers wildly into the walls every few moments. He has identical car and setup with the exception of him running a SR3500 rcvr..
Almost all racers at my track use the Spektrum and the only problem I have is with this one racer. I have reset my system numerous times while he has not . He says his is perfect, although his antenna wire is almost cut to nothing.

Before I buy another Spectrum rcvr (SR3500), I would like to know if it is possible that the other racer's setup is causing this glitch. I do not cause him any glitch problems.

Thanks...

Have you talked to specktrum's service people (1-877-504-0233) about this? I think they would be able to help you more than any of us.

Thats said...is this problem happening early or late in a run? Are you running stock, 19T, Mod or BL? Even with the cap if you are close to dumping you may be fail-safeing. Have you tried a reciever pack?

The SR3000 is the old reciever. It had some problems with static buildup on carpet as well as problems with signal rejection indoors, i.e. it had a hard time telling the difference between your tramsmitters signal and reflections of your transmitters signal from walls, metal roofs, etc.

The new Pro units have provisions to disipate the static build up and have new signal rejection firmware in them so they can better lock into the source signal.

I would talk to Spektrum first and see waht they have to say before buying anything new. They may be able to upgrade you receiver to the new spec.

Thanks for the number, I will try them.

It is on carpet indoors, stock motors ( have tried many different motors), any ESC ,happens from beginning till end of any run. Only happens when this other racer is running at same time and only when the cars are in motion. No receiver pack and have not used one. Will not show glitch on the bench.
Very strange and annoying.

So far so good...I finally got the car rebuilt and ran a couple tests earlier in the week and had no glitches whatsoever. One place I tested at has so much RF interferrence in the air that my car alarm won't arm unless the remote is 6" away from the antenna in my window. So things look good...but I haven't tested where we race yet so I won't be certain until the race this weekend.

It might be your antenna length. Spektrum says to either run it at the stock 8.5" or you can cut it to 3.6" not 4.5"

Good to hear and thanks a ton for the update

How old is the receiver? Have you ever had the firmware updated? What ESC are you using? Brushed or Brushless?

Hassle 02-08-2007 11:34 AM

Approximately 2 years old....works flawlessly, except when the other racer is on track. Never sent it in...no firmware update ever. Using a GTX esc . Always brushed stock motors.

oh sh!t just noticed that my ariel on my spektrum has snapped!!! :flaming:
what should i do and will it ever be as good as it was when it was ok :(

AdrianM 02-08-2007 03:39 PM

Stephen and Hassle - Send both of your units back to be repaired and updated. That will end your troubles.

Call Horizon now and stop wasting time typing here ;)

RCGaryK 02-08-2007 06:41 PM

Just like Adrian said, you need to send your gear in for a firmware update. This will help with any ESD issues you may have and ensure that your receiver is working properly.

Spektrum Pro problems right out of the box, with EX10

Ok so I decided to upgrade from fm to the Spektrum pro, I've had glitching issues ever since. My lhs sent it back to Spektrum and then it came back with the same problems.
I'm using it with a KO ex10 Helios.
I tested it last night at the track after it came back and the same thing.
Two different speedos were used to test Novak GTS and Novak Cyclone and two different cars. I even used another Ex10 and the same thing happened.
The car would take off on its own from a standstill, or turn wildly into the boards when driven. This happens about once every couple of laps.

Please help, should it be sent back again?
